Jo Thompson - Travel Counsellor UK Experienced for many years in the travel industry planning and booking peoples holidays, adventures and dreams, I am now running my own business

Hi, I’m Jo and I am a Travel Counsellor based in Eastleigh, Hampshire. I have lived in the area all my life and I love being close by to my family and the friends I have grown up with. I am married to Pete and we have a young son who keeps us busy and entertained! The travel industry has been a part of my life for more than 20 which began after I achieved both Primary and Advanced ABTA qualificati

ons at College. I joined the team at a local branch of a well-known high street Travel Agency and, during my time there, I was fortunate to benefit from training in respect of Canada and South East Asia to become the long-haul specialist in the Branch. I also received training about destinations in Italy and became the specialist for the Agency’s own holiday brand. I love to chat through the various options open to someone looking to book a holiday and, through this interaction with customers, I was able to secure a high level of repeat business to consistently be the top travel consultant in branch for each of the 17 years I worked there. My favourite destinations include the Far East, Australia and New Zealand and I experienced these first hand when I back-packed across Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand for a 7 month trip. These countries are so culturally diverse and are all definitely worth taking the time to explore. Closer to home, another of my favourite places is Italy. My love of Italian food and wine made Lake Garda the obvious choice and perfect place for my wedding, before travelling on to Venice for our honeymoon. Another part of my previous role was as Cruise specialist and this enabled me to enjoy the occasional cruise, in addition to being invited on tours aboard a variety of ships including Cunard, P&O, NCL, Royal Caribbean, Princess and Celebrity. I am passionate about travel and love nothing better than arranging fantastic holidays. Being a Travel Counsellor enables me to access a broader choice of Operator, offer in-house exclusives and offers and provide a personal service to tailor holidays to individual needs. I look forward to building long term client relationships, sharing experiences and being able to create your perfect holiday as your personal Travel Counsellor.
