On Thursday the Vibrant Workplace Forum reconvened for a special event focused on employee wellbeing as we explored how to Thrive in 2025 🙌
I was absolutely honoured to be able to share this experience with those of you who joined us, and to collaborate for this event with some incredible leaders:
▪️Karina Todd shared how menopause affects everyone and what we can do to support our employees
▪️Ben Gadd told us how he’d turned his life’s pain into purpose and took us through a very timely breathwork activity
▪️Simon Ward told us why an organisation should care to support employee wellbeing and gave us an insight to life at Verified Vibrant Workplace, Kukoon
▪️Philip Brady closed the show with a demonstration of the impact of stress and real life example of what we can do to help ourselves in times of need
Honestly, I could have listened to them all day and the time flew!
Thank you also to nijobfinder.co.uk for supporting this initiative, to the Young Hunger team Michael Burgess & Ross Gargan for the coverage and to the T3 Conference Centre for their amazing facilities!
If you want to see what we did, check out the video. And if you want to be at the next one, DM me to join the community 🤝
We can have a better working world.
For both employers & employees.

Across the Vibrant Workplace Accelerator @kukoonrugs employees had 17.02 times as many positive as negative days at work!
That’s how business should be 😍
A full time worker will spend around 100,000 hours of their lives working…
They deserve to have a positive experience doing so👈
But why would a business choose to operate that way when so many don’t?
Kukoon MD Simon Ward tells us what he thinks in this episode 🥰

Menopause Unmuted
If there was any one thing that affected so many people in such a significant way we’d think of it on epidemic levels.
So why isn’t there more interest and action around menopause and supporting people at that stage of their life in both their personal lives and their careers?
Listen to the latest episode of the podcast to hear from Karina Todd on what we can and should be doing.
I’ll link both Spotify and Apple Podcasts in the comments and would appreciate if you would like and share to help get this important conversation heard folks 🙏

Do we need to rethink how we compensate employees in order to achieve true employee engagement?
—
I’m stoked to share with you the brand new episode of the Vibrant Workplace Podcast, supported by nijobfinder, with special guest - founder of income inequality solutions start-up ‘VOSA’, Dimi Yar, as we discuss what it really takes to engage a team.
When we talk about employee engagement I often feel we're unrealistic based on current business models.
It feels to me like we're asking for employees to care like owners. But they're not owners. If the business does well, they get a company branded cupcake and the joy of appearing in a staged photoshoot for social media.
And in many industries they're going to work more than anything else they'll do in their lives for little more than mental / physical health problems and to toil in financial strife in return.
As we've seen in recent times, the moment the winds change even the largest enterprise will lay off thousands without warning.
So what's in it for the employees that WILL encourage them to engage and perform?
As many (but not all) businesses are currently run, why would they care?
And what can we do to deliver a model which results in BETTER business performance while ALSO working for the employees?
In a world where employers are struggling with talent attraction, attendance, performance and retention problems - and employees are struggling to pay the bills - how can we find a true WIN:WIN that's better for both?
Check out the snippet below from our conversation and I'll link the full episode in the comments!

There are fundamental pillars to engaging a team, and if we don’t get these right in the first place then we’ll find it much more difficult to get people coming to work driven to making a difference with the work they do.
