☀️🇪🇸🏎️𝗙𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗮 - 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗻𝘀 🍤😍🌇

🏎️ A fantastic weekend away in Barcelona with Mrs AH Escapes and good friends. The focus was the Spanish Grand Prix, my first live F1 experience but definitely not the last. A lot of fun and the Spanish authorities could teach some of our venues about getting large numbers of fans away from an arena - seamless throughout.

🎉 Highlights of the weekend include the race itself although qualifying was equally as epic. The atmosphere generated by the multi-national crowd was superb! We were team Lando this weekend and he did well - a few more laps and who knows what might have happened.

🇪🇸 And Barcelona itself never fails to deliver. We love the city and been lucky enough to visit many times. We took our friends to one of our favourite restaurants in the Port Vell area - tempura 🍤 while watching yachts sail in and out of- just heavenly! And we love the hustle and bustle of the La Rambla area - even more so with the Euros on. And is there a prettier building than Casa Battlo, one of Gaudi’s masterpieces, especially at night??

🥵 Since returning from my trip to Dubai at the weekend I have been super busy catching up on quotes, confirmations and preparing documentation for imminent departures. Clients are headed in the next couple of weeks to Canada, Spain, Med Cruises (lots), South Africa, Mauritius, Mexico, Greece (lots), Japan, Zambia and Croatia. It's a busy period for sure!

😍 But it's also great to get new clients booked up - Dubai, Ras al Khaimah, Las Vegas, Rhodes, Skiathos and Vietnam have all been put in place since I returned. I love pulling together these itineraries, each of them unique and helping to make travel dreams come true!

🏎️ But speaking of travel dreams, I am finishing up tonight (again, I know) and will be away from office until next Tuesday. I celebrated a milestone birthday yesterday (sadly not 40....) and am being whisked off to Barcelona by Mrs AH Escapes for the weekend to enjoy the Spanish Grand Prix. I absolutely cannot wait!

🏝 I will be contactable by phone (only) as always for anyone travelling or about to depart but for anything non urgent I will be in touch when I return on Tuesday. When I do return, there will be lots of Dubai and Cruise offers incoming (I have lots lined up following the CLIA Conference and my trip to the UAE and they will be joined by Formula One).

🚙 Not the best videography skills but in my defence I was doing well hanging on! So much fun and a must do on any itinerary to the Emirates. Our hosts for the day genuinely couldn’t do enough 🏜️

🏜️😂🌵𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘁….𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝘂𝗻! 🇦🇪🏝️🏜️

🏜️ Our final day in Dubai started with a site inspection of the Movenpick Hotel on Jumeirah Beach. Another well presented hotel with gorgeous views of the beach. Like a lot of hotels in the Jumeirah area, they provide complimentary beach packs consisting of a lounger and parasol. Perfect for a day on the beach which is just a matter of minutes away.

🕺🏽 Our final activity was a real treat. A desert safari consisting of dune bashing, a falconry display, a delicious meal and traditional dancers. I think our driver enjoyed the karaoke in the truck (he did ask for the playlist at the end) but the whole afternoon was ridiculously good fun!

🙏 An overnight flight back from Dubai to Manchester and a day of travelling to get home. I am very grateful for the opportunity to have visited and I’ve learned a lot! 🤩🏝️🇦🇪 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗲𝘀 - 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 🇦🇪🏝️🌇

🥹 Yesterday we waved goodbye to Ras Al Khaimah and returned to Dubai - this time our destination was the Jumeirah Beach and Marina areas. I think this is probably my favourite part of Dubai and where I would choose to stay. There are so many hotels, restaurants, bars, entertainment complexes and malls. Nowhere is far and you have good access to everything.

🇦🇪 First stop was the Sofitel Jumeirah Beach hotel. I really liked this newly renovated hotel. The rooms are bright and delightfully finished and the views superb. After lunch we then headed for the Amwaj Rotana just a few meters away which was our final overnight stop. More wonderful views of JBR from my room on the 9th floor. A wonderful welcome from a team that genuinely couldn’t do enough for us.

🕺🏽 After dinner at the hotel, the Rotana team then hosted us for drinks while watching the opening game of the Euros before finishing up in a club complex called Bla Bla right on the waterfront. A fantastic but exhausting day!

🏝️🔥💦 𝗥𝗮𝘀 𝗔𝗹 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗵 - 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗻-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗶 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 🏝️🇦🇪☀️

🔥 An hour and a half drive North brought us to Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), one of the neighbouring Emirates and an increasingly important market for British clients. I send as many here as I do to Dubai - predominantly because all inclusive is more readily available and the price point is usually a bit cheaper.

🏝️ We enjoyed a fabulous site visit at the Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island. I really liked this hotel - it’s very modern (they have just celebrated their second birthday) and contemporary and it had a huge range of facilities. My lads would love the arcades and the games room here as well as the crazy golf and pools (one under cover for the little ones). Chalets with private pools available. And lunch was incredible!

🛕 Final stop of the day and our overnight stay was at the Rixos Bab Al Bahr, an ultra all inclusive hotel which consists of a series of low rise pyramids. The family rooms complete with ‘fun bunks’ are a delight and perfect for families of 5. We ate dinner at the all day dining restaurant but there are 6 a la carte restaurants available and all included - bookings essential. A spectacular waterside dance and lights show ended the evening.

😍 RAK has much to offer. As well as world class hotels most of which offer the all inclusive concert, you can also enjoy beautiful beaches, great weather (42 degrees here yesterday), Pearl farms and all sorts of adrenaline activities in the Jebal Jais mountain range that sit behind the resort. Including the world’s longest zipline. A casino is under construction, I believe it will be the first in the UAE and is scheduled to open in 2027. RAK to become the new JBR in years to come?

🇦🇪 Back to Dubai today and the Jumeirah Beach / Marina areas.

💦🏰🇦🇪 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀 - 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧’𝗦 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸!! 🏰💦🏝️

💦 The day started with a whistle stop trip around Aquaventure, Atlantis’ waterpark. With 105 slides, this is the largest of its kind anywhere in the world. A wonderful playground for adults and kids alike.

👉 Top tip: The entrance fee for the waterpark is around £75pp. There is also a charge for the Aquarium. BUT, both are free to hotel guests. Even if you stay elsewhere in Dubai, consider adding a night or two at Atlantis and enjoying the waterpark for free when there.

🇦🇪🔥🏰 𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗺 - 𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰, 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱! 🔥🇦🇪🏰

🔥 Another bucket list item achieved by staying at Atlantis. This was our final stop yesterday and our overnight point. This hotel promises much and delivers even more. The lobby has that real Wow! factor (the glass sculpture apparently takes a week to clean) but everywhere you turn your jaw keeps dropping. The aquarium is huge and the waterpark simply vast! If you love a slide this is the place for you. (Both the waterpark and aquarium are complimentary for hotel guests)

🏰 We enjoyed the Imperial Club check in and the room was gorgeous! Massive bathroom, very comfy bed and awesome views out over the pool and palm area. Fine dining available at Nobu (previously the Presidential Suite but recently converted) and En Fuego where we dined - the incredible food also came with live entertainment.

😍 A stunning hotel for couples and families alike. Iconic, an amazing setting, loads to do and super cuisine. Highly recommended! Next stop, the neighbouring Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, I can’t wait!

🇦🇪🔥🏝️ 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗸𝘀, 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗗𝘂𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗺 🔥🏝️💦

🔥 A brilliant but very hot day in Dubai and again we crammed so much in. In the morning we toured some of the Souks in the downtown area - wonderful smells from all the spices on offer in the Old Souk and bargains (and kittens) to be found in the Gold Souk. A short cruise along the Creek followed - this is a great way of seeing where old Dubai meets the new. And the gentle breeze was very welcome!

🏝️ After a short transfer to The Palm, we arrived at Dukes The Palm, a Hideaway Hotel. Our excellent host gave us a tour of the property which is very British in style (the bulk of clients here are Brits). The food at the all-day dining restaurant was superb (the crème brûlée in the picture was heavenly) and I especially liked the serenity and views from the indoor pool. A very good 5* hotel situated on the trunk of The Palm (and I know from having sent many clients here that it’s very well priced).

🏰 Final stop of the day was Atlantis. I’ll cover that separately.

☀️🌇🇦🇪 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗶 𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘀 - 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 🇦🇪🌇☀️

🛌 Our first night’s stay was in the Holiday Inn Business Bay Hotel, approx half an hour from the airport and perfectly located to visit the Dubai Mall just 10 mins away on the complimentary shuttle service.

🌇 We then headed to Hyatt Place for an inspection and (incredibly good) lunch. Foodies are well catered for wherever you go in Dubai 😋 It’s another fairly new hotel with bright, modern rooms. Kids under 12 stay free too making this a great option for families. The beach is under 10 mins away.

🛌 Al Khoory in the Downtown area was the final stop of the day. Rooms are bright, airy and spacious and again we were welcomed with genuine warmth - service wherever we’ve gone has been incredible. A late afternoon dip in the rooftop pool was a real treat and gave us our first glimpse of the Burj al Arab as well as the ski slope ⛷️

⛲ Just like at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, the fountains at the Burj Khalifa dance to the music with different tunes played every half an hour. A wonderful spectacle!

☀️ I cannot begin to describe how hot it was. But that’s definitely one of the big draws of Dubai - guaranteed sunshine and heat.

🇦🇪🔥☀️ 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝟯𝟲 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗶 🇦🇪💦☀️

✅ A fantastic first 36 hours in Dubai. We’ve already crammed so much in it feels like we’ve been here a lot longer. Multiple hotel visits (more on those separately) as well as a city tour where we enjoyed the Dubai Frame and the Museum of the Future. But the highlight was last night’s fountain display at the Burj Khalifa - incredible and very moving.

✅ Souks and more hotels today including visiting Atlantis later on - can’t wait!

🏜️🌅💦 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗻, 𝘀𝗲𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿…..𝗢𝗳𝗳 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗶, 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵 💦🔥🐫

🌅 Dubai is a much-visited and much-loved destination for the UK travel market. It provides sun-starved Brits with much-needed glimpses of the yellow thing in the sky, a whole raft of high (or low) octane activities and an abundance of fine hotels ready to cater to your every whim.

🎉 I was fortunate enough to visit for a friend’s birthday celebration late last year and tomorrow I will be going back for a week on a tour operator sponsored visit. I cannot wait! Although I have the fear for the temperature which is in the 40s - 🦞mode incoming!

🥵 The itinerary is jam-packed full of hotel inspections, visiting key contacts in the Dubai tourism sphere as well as a spot of sightseeing of course. My knowledge of Dubai and what it has to offer is good but there’s no substitute for seeing it up close - seeing some of the hotels both in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah is what I am most looking forward to.

🙏 This comes hot on the heels of an exceptionally busy period in which I have been booking many of you for your summer fly and flop break but also further afield to all points of the globe. I remain incredibly grateful to you for supporting my business and trusting me with your plans. I never take it for granted.

🍹 A drink on deck during Sailaway is one of my happy holiday times. You have the memories from the day still fresh in your head, marvelling at what you’ve seen. You have the evening’s entertainment lined up and already thoughts are turning to tomorrow’s amazing destination and the new things you’ll see and do 🚢

🍹 But just standing and staring into the distance as port and land get increasingly small and the sun starts to set. Just magical! 🚢
