This is due to the Solar Cycle reaching its peak and causing an increase in solar activity (such as solar flares and sun spots).
During its peak, the magnetic activity increases resulting in more intense solar winds and clearer displays of the infamous Northern Lights!

- In short- book it for 2025 as you have a better chance of seeing them!

Fun Facts about Lapland!
- Lapland is Home to Santa Claus
Lapland is famously known as the home of Santa Claus, with Rovaniemi being the official hometown of Santa. You can visit Santa Claus Village year-round, meet Santa, and cross the Arctic Circle.
- Polar Night (Kaamos)
From early December to early January, Lapland experiences the polar night, where the sun does not rise above the horizon for several weeks. During this time, the region is bathed in a magical twilight-like light, known as blue hour.
- Lapland's Unique Cuisine
Lapland has its own distinct cuisine, often featuring local ingredients like reindeer meat, fish, berries, and mushrooms. A traditional dish is Lappish stew, made with reindeer meat, potatoes, and vegetables. Cloudberries are a prized delicacy often used in desserts.
- Snowfall
Snowfall begins in late October to early November. Deep snow and the most consistent snow conditions occur from December to February.
- Northern Lights
October to March are the prime months for Northern Lights viewing. During this period, the nights are longest, and the chances of clear skies are higher.
The months of December, January, and February are often considered the best for a high likelihood of seeing the auroras, as they have the darkest nights, which provide better visibility.
- World Record for the Most Snowmen
In Rovaniemi, a group of people set a world record in 2016 for building the most snowmen in a single location, with a total of 2,045 snowmen!

What a fabulous weekend at the Travel Counsellors conference!
Need a few days to sleep it off to be honest.
Key moments for me include:
- Catching up with colleagues! Running your own business can feel a bit lonely sometimes so it's great to connect
- Networking with key suppliers. Always a highlight!
- Having a go at curling at the Apres ski themed evening. Turns out I am not awful at it!
- Boogie-ing along to Nile Rodgers and Chic! I knew all the words which is evident on all of my videos 🫣
- The future predictions within travel are pretty exciting! Slow travel is one to watch with train travel predicted to rise massively
- Listening to Jo Malone... What a woman!
- Having the pleasure of listening to Bruce P**n Tip, founder of G Adventures yesterday. He is an absolute legend and has given me plenty to think about on meaningful travel

I imagine that you have found your way onto my page as a starting point for your next adventure? Maybe you are thinking of a relaxing week on a secluded sandy beach, or a tailor made trip of a lifetime exploring deepest darkest Peru or a stylish city break to New York. Whatever your thoughts and hopes are for your next holiday, I am positive I can help.
Being an independent travel agent, I am passionate about travel and enjoy the whole experience from the early planning stages right the way through to the eventual return home and looking through all of the memories made on the camera. Being able to walk alongside you throughout this process and help you build the holiday of your dreams is quite simply the best job (if I can even call it that, it really doesn’t feel like work).
As a Travel Counsellor, I can offer so much more than the High Street shops or the internet. With me, not only can I create entirely bespoke holidays through my access to thousands of flights, hotels and experiences from every corner of the globe. I also offer exceptional service from beginning to end. With me, you will not have to worry about a thing.
Over the years I have travelled all over the world however with 2 young children my escapades have taken a somewhat different approach! It doesn’t make me love it any less and it is amazing watching my kids experience different countries and cultures. I have found that attention to detail is the key difference between a good holiday and an amazing one, so whether you are travelling with a family, going solo or have any other requirements I will be sure to take note and adapt your trip to make it the best yet.
