We were treated to some amazing dancers on our last night onboard Uniworld Voyages Ganges II.

A day in Kolkata. This is really hard to describe, a city of contrast. My overriding feeling is one of sadness. I looked for a word to describe it and found "life". It is noisy, lively, happy, sad.
Going to Mother Teresa's House and Calcutta Rescue's School reminds us of how much good there is, and how much we all can do.
It's a city to see and learn.
Go, learn and remember.

Today we moved on to our second hotel - Spice Island Resort, and anyone who knows me knows when I find a little gem I shout about it, and yes Spice Island Resort instantly captured both mine and my daughter's hearts.
It is beautiful, gorgeous gardens, fabulous rooms and wonderful staff. It is situated right on Grand Anse Beach, infact our room steps right out onto the beach - pure bliss!

Four years ago in the midst of 2 lockdowns I was lucky to be invited to visit the beautiful Caribbean island of Grenada (they opened for around 3 weeks and then locked down again, so I really was lucky). Today I am back as a guest of 2 fabulous hotels, accompanied by my daughter Victoria.
We are staying 3 nights at the 5 star Silversands Hotel situated right on Grande Anse beach. You might recognise it from the ITV show Fortune Hotel.

You may recognise this hotel if you tuned into ITV last night and watched Fortune Hotel. It is the very beautiful 5 star Silversands resort in Grenada, and together with my daughter I will be visiting on this coming Sunday for a few days.
I first visited Silversands back in 2021 and loved it, so was very excited to be invited back to see what has changed and also get to visit their sister property Silversands Beach House - do follow to find out what we got up to.

I started in travel back in 1993! I've visited so many wonderful, amazing hotels that I would 100% recommend, but just once in a while you come across something special, a real gem. It doesn't have to be a big all singing all dancing 5 star hotel. It just had to pull at your heart strings. Today I came across one of these places - The Bequia Beach Hotel. Its what I would call a boutique 5 star hotel with just 58 rooms - hillside rooms, seafront rooms, two, three and four bedroom villas. It has such a welcoming laid-back vibe. I instantly fell in love with it.
