Bath Abbey Chiming for Prince Philip
Bath Abbey's bells chiming in respect and remembrance of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
This afternoon I filmed a small clip to promote my live virtual tour of hawk-flying. TV presenters often comment on the dangers of working with animals - I now know why!
If you would like to join my live virtual tour of hawk-flying where you can learn more about these magnificent birds - use the link below and sign-up on the Heygo platform. Registration and the tour is free! The tour takes place at 1pm this Friday - I will be washing my coat before then!

Bath Virtual Tour - Pulteney Bridge
To celebrate the re-opening of Bath to visitors I have created a series of short clips on some of the places that you should see during a visit to Bath. All of these and more can be seen in person on my private Bath City Tour where I bring the places to life with the interesting stories behind them. In the meantime I hope the clips give you a taste for my beautiful city :)
This week's clip is of a very famous bridge and weir in Bath - Pulteney Bridge. Enjoy!
West Country Cider in the Making!
There are many reasons to visit Bath and the West Country in October and November. Over the next few days I will post my favourite reasons for visiting at this time of year.
Today's reason:
October and November is the harvest time for cider-makers in the West Country. This is when they gather in the apples and press them to extract the apple juice which will later transform into the West Country's favourite alcoholic tipple - cider! Interesting fact: did you know that children used to be baptised in cider in the West Country - it's no wonder us locals have developed a taste for it!
This week I took one of my guests to visit a local cider farm during our tour of the West Country and we were fortunate to see them processing the apples. We were able to taste the apple juice - straight off the apple press - the best apple juice I have ever tasted! You can see the apples being pressed in the video and the delicious juice all running off.
You could argue that you haven't experienced the West Country if you havent tried a pint of cider! Visit in October & November and you may see it being made!
Bath Day of the Dead Parade
This evening Bath had its very own mini Day of the Dead Parade with funky beats and some great costumes and characters. A big thanks to Bath Carnival and all those involved for putting on great entertainment. My hastily put together video does not do you justice! Make sure your sound is on!
