Interested in seeing a part of Bath not normally accessible to the public?

Between now and the 1st November you can visit the colonnades on the other side of Pulteney Weir, walk underneath the ancient East Gate and see some of the vaults. You also get free access into Parade Gardens! Definitely worth a visit if you are in town :)

Summer has officially ended!

Today is the Autumn Equinox which marks the start of Autumn. I was fortunate to be at Stonehenge for sunrise where I could witness the ceremonies that spiritual groups use the stone circle for today to mark such occasions. What would such occasions have looked like thousands of years ago I wonder?

Like many people I am now looking forward to the changing colour of the leaves across the country 😀

Visiting Bath this weekend?

One of the main attractions in the city is the Roman Baths Museum. If you are interested in visiting the museum this weekend then here is a little tip :) The museum is open late and every evening between the 23rd and 26th August the Bath Spa String Quartet will be playing classical music by the Great Bath between 7 and 9pm. Enjoy the museum when the tour bus crowds have gone, enjoy a sip of wine by the Great Bath (in the evening there is a small pop-up bar) and soak up the music and ambience by the Great Bath! A fab. way to experience the museum plus the ticket price is the same as during the day. Enjoy!

Happy Easter everyone!

There are many traditions across the world to mark this day. Here in England many churches have an Easter display inside and outside the church. The photo below is of the Easter display at Salisbury Cathedral. The stone will be rolled back to commemorate Jesus' resurrection.

** BRITISH SUMMERTIME! **

If you are a tourist currently in the UK or a local Brit ... don't forget that the clocks go forward one hour tomorrow at 1am (Sunday 31st March)! 1am becomes 2am. Your phones should update automatically but if you are old school and have a wind-up watch be sure to correct it! We lose one hour sleep but on the plus side we get more hours of daylight which is great for touring :)

Today is the Spring Equinox! I was very fortunate to be able to witness this special occasion with my lovely guests at Stonehenge. You can see a short video on my blog post below:

Today, March 20th, is the Spring Equinox. What is the Equinox you may ask ... well it is a day in the Northern Hemisphere when the amount of daylight is at a similar length as the amount of night. The word Equinox comes from the latin words "Equi" (meaning equal) and "nox" (meaning night). From tomo...

Today I received my first item through the post with the new stamp featuring King Charles III! Prior to this it would have been Queen Elizabeth II who featured on them.

Ironically it has also been announced today that the first banknotes featuring King Charles III will be out in circulation in June so keep your eyes peeled for them 😀

Have you ever been to Wells? This beautiful city is just under 1 hours drive from Bath and has one of my favourite cathedrals in the region. Below is a video I made from my favourite photos of the cathedral. During one of my tours I was fortunate to hear an orchestra practising for a concert that night so the backing music is what I captured when they were practising :)

I operate a Wells and Cheddar Day Tour to give Bath's visitors a chance to see these beautiful areas. For visitors with less time I have now created an afternoon tour to see Wells so check my website for more details :)

A collection of my favourite photos of the beautiful Wells Cathedral. The background music is from an orchestra which was rehearsing at the cathedral when I ...

A reminder if you are in the UK today, there will be a nationwide 2 minute silence at 11am for Armistice Day. There will also be a 2 minute silence at 11am on Sunday for Remembrance Sunday.

The 2 minute silence is used to reflect on the sacrifices of the Armed Forces and to pay tribute to the special contribution of their families and the Emergence Services. It is also used to remember innocent civilians who have lost their lives in conflict and acts of terrorism.

Please be respectful of this when you are out and about, thank you.

CLOCKS CHANGE TONIGHT! A reminder for everyone that the clocks in the UK will go back 1 hour overnight so you will have an extra hour in bed! If you have a non-digital watch be sure to update it ☺️

Also if you are in Bath today - a large climate change "family-friendly" protest is being held in the centre led by the Extinction Rebellion Group so if you hear lots of strange noises you know what it is!

Have a great weekend 😀
