Fenland Gliding Club (2024)

The final flying day of Fenland Gliding Club occurred on Sunday 8th January 2023. Despite challenging wind conditions and showers, we managed 8 aerotows to between 2000 and 4000'. A good turn out of people including one who joined in 1962!. Sad to see the gliders packed away and shipped to new homes, however the good times will live on in memory. Best of luck to all pilots who now disperse across East Anglia and surrounds.

NEWS - Closure of Fenlands Gliding Club.
It is with great sadness that we must inform you that as of January 8th 2023, Fenland GC will close permenantly.
Fenland Gliding Club has a long history dating back around 65 years. During this time the club has called many places home, including Swanton Morely, Feltwell and RAF Marham where the gliders have graced the skies for the last few decades.
Recently, FGC has struggled to sustain operations with only 2 or 3 instructors, rising costs and dwindeling membership numbers thus finally a decision was made to call it a day. We would like to thank all members past and present for the fantastic contribution to club over the years, I'm sure there will be many happy memories, we would love to hear them. We wish our members all the best as they search for thermals new. Fenlands out.
