PICTURE SHACK IS 30!!

30 years ago this month, Picture Shack, in its physical carnation, was born. To celebrate, I'm offering this painting of Suilven via a silent auction.

I don't usually use acrylics, but a wee while ago I fancied a change, and during a rare spare moment, came up with this. The colours are a bit brighter than I'm used to, but I had lots of fun. I'll get around to doing more at some stage, but in the meantime if you want to grab yourself the prototype, send me a private message with your bid, and whoever has offered the highest amount by 30th June 2023, can buy the painting. Postage is free.

'Suilven, late summer' is acrylic on board, unvarnished, unframed, 12" x 10".

Minimum starting bid £30.

Out and about sketching today with a client (AirB&B experiences: Sketching in Assynt). It started raining so we painted this old steading from the car.
Can anyone guess where it is?

Something a bit different for me.

This is a 'rough' for my latest commission, which consists of three paintings for a grandchildren's bedroom. The brief was: perhaps semi-abstract, not landscape and in colours as vivid as possible. One granddaughter loves orange and the other green.

I am going for a watery theme, with tropical fish also featuring, but I think this one could be improved by using a marker pen and being a bit more stylised. (I'll be more careful with the markings on the final version).
Any suggestions anyone?

Still fiddling with the nature journal. I've reached the end of the year (since I started it) but it's kind of addictive and a good excuse for a walk in the woods.
