Can You Help?
*EDIT - Shelagh has now been contacted by a few people and is considering the best option for Galaxy.*
*Galaxy is located in Plymouth, not the Isle of Wight*
We were contacted by Shelagh Duffy, as she has a little Dartmoor pony called Galaxy in need of a new home. Unfortunately we are unable to take him in ourselves, but told Shelagh that we would do our best to help her find someone that can help her.
Galaxy is a 14 year old Dartmoor pony. He was rounded up with his close friend Skylark and rescued at auction. When Shelagh purchased her house, these ponies came along with the deal, and they have spent their lives in this same field.
Sadly Skylark has passed away and Galaxy is now on his own.
Galaxy behaves well having his feet trimmed and he is unshod. He loves to be groomed and really enjoys being clipped. He has had one small episode of laminitis around 4 years ago, so spends his day out in a paddock, but is moved to a paddock without any grass overnight. He has been very healthy since and is currently not on any medication.
He is unable to be ridden, but he has been partially trained to tow a carriage and he loves to go for walks. He has never been stabled so prefers to live out, and does not like dogs and will chase them.
Unfortunately Shelagh feels that she can no longer give him the life that he deserves due to her age, and feels that he needs to find a new home. She is willing to pay for the transport if the ideal home can be found for Galaxy.
If anyone is interested, or know of anyone that can offer Galaxy a home, please contact Shelagh at [email protected], or on 01752 839130
