Moulin de Marousse is on a a narrow river, surrounded by fields and woods. You can walk out the gate at the end of the garden, over the bridge and into the woods or along the ecluse (the upper mill pond) into fields and woods and never see another person. Borrow the badly behaved golden retriever, Mousse, from Yves the wonderful elderly next door neighbour (his grandparents used to own the house
and he was born here) and walk off the booze or for let the kids go berry picking or exploring on their own. The mill is a stone property with period features, open fireplaces (central heating on two floors but not the upper floor), a private walled garden and an additional prairie garden with views across the valley. It has a small pool filled from our own fresh water spring, terraces, bbq, games, dvds, books, a couple of bikes, hammocks and an honesty bar. Free firewood is also available for our guests renting during the winter. There is satellite TV, WiFi, a dishwasher and washing machine. All linen and towels are provided. The moulin suits couples looking for a romantic getaway, a group of friends or a couple of families with kids holidaying together. The Moulin is the perfect environment for lazing around eating, drinking, walking and playing games with loved ones all year round. It's brilliant for artists because the light is so gorgeous and a wonderful peaceful retreat for writers. The ground floor has a kitchen diner with seating for 10-12. It is particularly well equipped with all the crockery and utensils you could possibly need, a wood burning stove and french doors onto the garden. There is a music system with an ipod lead. There is downstairs toilet and a separate 'cave' next door housing the washing machine, dryer, garden furniture, bbq etc. On the next floor there is a lounge with seating for 9, a TV with English freeview channels, DVD player, Bose CD player and a cupboard housing loads of DVDs and games. There is a Jotul wood burning stove. On the same floor is the main bathroom and the master bedroom which has a double bed in it. On the upper floor is a toilet and shower room, one double bedroom, and a huge triple/quadruple (at a push) with two singles and a french bed which is like a large single or small double. This room leads on to a small kids room with two single beds in it.
