Thank you to Zooloo's Book Tours for a fantastic virtual book tour.
If you missed any of the reviews, here is a quick roundup of what they had to say about Entitled by Gill Merton…

Bonnie Reads And Writes
This can be described as a mild psychological thriller, and if there were a genre called psychological cozy I’d put it under there.
It raises the questions: “Is revenge ever warranted?” and “How far is too far?”

bianca_reads_books
I loved the setting of Inniscuillan and the characters of the island.
I was definitely not expecting the twist at the end!
Fast-paced, absolutely jam-packed with story. A great read.

“It was only at that point Sally realised, with disbelief, that Malcolm wasn’t talking about a colleague of his from the hospital. No, he was talking about himself. He intended to operate on her himself.”

Peacock Book Reviews
Entitled is a story about the privileged, those who take what they want from life without any consideration for others.
It’s a well-written, well-plotted, skillfully executed, engrossing story with good characters.

Wow! What a fantastic story this group of authors came together and created! At the end, my big question was whether or not the big secret was part of the original storyline or if they came up with it along the way!! I did not see that coming!

Pardon me while I pick my jaw up off the floor! That final twist just did me in. Gill Merton has a way of writing that will make you think you have everything worked out when you really do not.

28th March
Morelli’s Reads
The book flows so well, even the narrative from other characters, that it’s really hard to sense a shift or change in writing style- was that tricky to navigate with five authors?
You couldn’t get five more different writers (or people!) so yes, it was a bit like mixing Chinese, Mexican, Indian, Scottish and sushi into one recipe and producing a not only edible but tempting plate of food.

prdg reads
I loved this, the synopsis only tells you part of the story, and although I was really confused when I first started reading I soon got to grips with it & thought it was really cleverly done!

This is also about entitlement, the haves and the have-nots and one woman’s attempt to make things right. A very different book which I thoroughly enjoyed.

When I first started reading this, I must admit I was hooked. This book has utterly surprised me, the more I read, the more I got sucked into this story. This author is extremely good at piecing everything together at the end and it’s jaw dropping.
Fantastic read.

Book Read 2day
So much happens in this novel. I was hooked from page one to the very last page. I honestly recommend reading Entitled by Gill Merton, but I do advise you to have plenty of tissue ready!

twilight_reader (IG)
The author creates such a puzzling plot that really ticks all boxes. I really enjoyed the authors style of writing. I really enjoyed the pace in the end and the chapters were the perfect length to pause and continue whenever you want to. This was a different style of read to my overall favourites but one that has definitely left an imprint.

Seven Bands of Gold: Book Two: Sensual Love by Jenny Lees

It is 1968 and 19-year-old Sally Phillips has fled the UK for the Middle East in an attempt to heal her broken heart. Betrayal by her Scottish fiance has made her suspicious of men and reluctant to trust them, but she remains in many ways naive.
She begins to adapt to life in the Sheikhdom of Al Khaleej, making friends and finding a job, and it is not long before she has become indispensible to her boss. So it comes as a shock one morning to find herself unceremoniously and inexplicably dismissed.

Almost simultaneously, she is offered very different employment at the Royal stables. Infuriated to learn that her sacking had been masterminded by a powerful man used to getting his own way, Sally hesitates to accept, but her finances leave her no choice. Incensed by the high-handed ways of the Sheikhdom's Heir Apparent, but secretly delighted at the thought of working with his beautiful Arabian horses, Sally resolves to keep their relationship business-like - however much her heart flutters when the handsome Sheikh is near.

Her new employer shows a keen interest in Sally. She finds his attention embarrassing but, as their friendship develops, she discovers that beneath the power and authority lurks a kindred spirit who yearns to live his life away from the spotlight. He demands that Sally treat him like any other man - and when she finds it difficult to use his first name he predicts that one day he will make love to her and that she will call it out in the throes of passion. Sally's on-going relationship with the attractive Naval Lieutenant Commander, Matthew Rawlinson, makes her sceptical of this outrageous boast.

First Love saw Sally's s*xuality awakened; in Sensual Love, the seductive Sheikh Abdullah takes her s*x education to a new level - and the convent-educated and ill-prepared schoolgirl proves a fast learner! Torn between the comfort and security of her affair with the gentle Matt and the deep passions aroused by the experienced Sheikh, Sally imagines life could not get more complicated. But when a figure from her past casts his shadow over this curious menage-a-trois, she realises how wrong she was.

A Blonde Bengali Wife by Anne Hamilton

They said that Bangladesh would be an experience ...

For Anne Hamilton, a three-month winter programme of travel and ‘cultural exchange’ in a country where the English language, fair hair and a rice allergy are all rare in the extreme was always going to be interesting, challenging and frustrating. What they didn’t tell Anne was that it would also be sunny, funny and the start of a love affair with this unexplored area of Southeast Asia.

A Blonde Bengali Wife shows the lives beyond the poverty, monsoons and diarrhoea of Bangladesh and charts a vibrant and fascinating place where one minute Anne is levelling a school playing field ‘fit for the national cricket team,’ cobbling together a sparkly outfit for a formal wedding the next.

Along with Anne are the essential ingredients for survival: a travel-savvy Australian sidekick, a heaven-sent adopted family, and a short, dark and handsome boy-next-door.
During her adventures zipping amongst the dusty clamour of the capital Dhaka, the longest sea beach in the world at Cox’s Bazaar, verdant Sylhet tea gardens, and the voluntary health projects of distant villages, Anne amasses a lot of friends, stories ... and even a husband.

A Blonde Bengali Wife is the ‘unexpected travelogue’ that reads like a comedy of manners to tell the other side of the story of Bangladesh.

Seven Bands of Gold: First Love by Jenny Lees

Seven Bands of Gold: First Love is the debut novel of a born storyteller. Although by no means autobiographical, it would not ring with such authenticity and passion had not the author experienced some of the same agony and ecstasy as her heroine. This explicit tale of the loss of innocence is unputdownable - you will be hooked from the first chapter and begging for more.

It is the mid-1960s and 17-year-old Sally is living in leafy suburbia with her bourgeois mother, indulgent father and infuriating sister. Having finished her convent education, Sally is shy and naive, and totally unconscious of her budding beauty. When she meets the charming and handsome Doug MacDonald, almost overnight Sally blossoms her inhibitions caressed away by the experienced hands of an accomplished lover. Her future looks set, until a web of deceit changes the direction of her life.

Tindog Tacloban by Claire Morley

In the aftermath of the fiercest typhoon on record to hit land, banners bearing the words Tindog Tacloban started to appear all over the city. Meaning Rise Up Tacloban, they were a testament to the determination and resilience of the Filipino people as they tried to rebuild their shattered lives.

For many, things would never be the same:
Izel Sombilon watched in horror as two of his children were ripped from his arms and swept away by the huge storm waves.

Eleven year old Lika Faye was plunged into the sordid underworld of We**am Child S*x Tourism.

For Helen Gable volunteering in the typhoon ravaged area was a chance for her to come to terms with her own personal tragedy.
