We are Hiring……

Bookkeeper – with a strong bias to a busy office administration.

We are dancebreaks.com, established for 24 years, based in Exmouth Devon, and recognised as the brand leader specialist dance holiday company in the UK.

Based in our home garden office, the post, is challenging, but rewarding because much of our business is ‘fluid’ and so you must be capable of keeping multiple balls in the air… and also, most importantly, remember where they all are, whilst keeping up with a fast-moving MD.

Benefits:-
Salary negotiable
Holidays negotiable
Part time - 24 hours a week and we can be entirely flexible
A family and friendly relaxed working environment

Skills:-
General Bookkeeping duties, bank reconciliation
Experience of Xero or similar desirable
Sound knowledge of Microsoft office, particularly Excel
Payroll - but not essential
VAT – but not essential

Admin:-
Managing guest bookings – our bespoke CRM linked to accounts
Liaising with guests - Essential the applicant must be customer focussed
Liaising with multiple partner hotels/venues – collating rooming lists and table plans
Excellent organisational skills an absolute must…..
Able to work independently and often alone in our garden office.
NOTE: It will not be possible to work from home in the first 18 months… Thereafter, on agreement….

Advantageous background skills:-
Knowledge of the travel/holiday industry
Booking Flights
Arranging/coordinating transfers
Knowledge of WordPress websites
Previous marketing experience inc. Social media

Twixt Xmas event at the Wessex Hotel

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟑:
The day started with a fantastic breakfast in the restaurant, I have to say the Wessex Hotel do offer a lot of choice and the quality of food is excellent.

Today was the Foxtrot tuition with Lawrence and Emma, again everyone seemed to enjoy the learning they were getting from these two accomplished dancers.

After a well-earned rest the second Tea Dance kicked off at 2pm, Paul and Carole do make sure everyone has lots of dancing available to them, ok that might be because it’s a dance holiday duh!

After another lovely evening meal, it was the final evening dance of the holiday the Glitter Ball, everyone was dressed up in sparkle even me (Carole made sure I had a glittery tie!)

Paul and Carole arranged for a dance supplier to show case their dance shoe collection so tonight was dancing and shopping, a marriage made in heaven for all the ladies!!!

What a fantastic night everyone was having a great time, however for some it was the final night of a brilliant holiday, for some they had the pleasure of staying on for the New Year event.

I had the pleasure of attending the Twixt Xmas event at the Wessex Hotel in Street, Somerset, 27th – 30th December, what an amazing experience.

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟏:
Due to horrendous traffic conditions traveling from Scotland down to the event I missed the drinks reception and was late for dinner, however Paul and Carole arranged for the kitchen to hold my menu choice for my arrival, which was great as I had travelled 11 hours without anything to eat!

Now that’s what I call great service!!

I was attending the event to gather photos and videos of the event as I am working with Paul and Carole heading up their social media and marketing.

I am not a dancer myself but I learned a lot just watching everyone and was drawn into the world of dance which was such an enjoyable experience.

The first evening was a Social Dance and the thing that struck me was how good the dance couples were and the pleasure they were getting out of this event.

Paul presents the music and with his years of experience he has an innate understanding of his guests and matches the music to the dancer’s experience from the vast collection of over 11,000 tracks, wow!

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐:
After a great breakfast, dance tuition from Lawrence and Emma took place in the ballroom, dancers were split into two groups based upon their experience.

Today was Waltz tuition and I have to say Lawrence and Emma are fantastic tutors, from my perspective watching the proceedings it looked like everyone benefited from their knowledge.

At 2pm the first of two Tea Dances were held in the ballroom, again everyone was having a great time, you could see it in the faces of everyone on that dance floor that they love dancing.

This evening was Christmas Formal night, we had Christmas dinner in the restaurant at 6.30pm and what I loved was Paul and Carole would stand at the door and welcome every one of their guests into the restaurant (I missed that the first night)

Paul and Carole are marvellous hosts, their attention to detail is second to none.

Everyone was dressed in formal attire which added to the occasion, the food and company was excellent, what a wonderful start to the evening.

After dinner everyone headed to the ballroom for the Christmas Formal Ball, what a fantastic night of great music and a lot of amazing dancing……
