My time as a football coach has come to an end. After 18 years working within top level youth football has been a privilege and it’s made me feel very humbled to what I’ve accomplished.
Starting my journey with Stoke City at the age of 18 I was quickly promoted to Pre Academy Coordinator by the current England Assistant Manager Steve Holland. Then moving full time into Head of Foundation I was part of the coaching team that led the club to achieving Category 1 status. I signed players that have gone onto play for the first team and Premier League, including Emre Tezgel & Lewis Dobbin.
From there I continued building my own coaching company whilst working for Manchester United in a part time capacity. I had 7 years working with some of the best players & coaches in the world. Needless to say the experience gained will never be forgotten and cherished forever. To see a player, Kobbie Mainoo that I’ve worked with make his England debut was an honour.
This led me into my most recent jobs as head coach at Repton School. I had the pleasure of coaching some amazing young men and women giving 9 players the opportunities within professional football clubs along with winning many trophies and Leagues.
It’s been an unbelievable experience in many ways. Too many brilliant colleagues over the years to mention them all. More learnings and insight than I could have ever hoped for, which will lead me into success moving forward.
I am thrilled to announce that I have joined Beswicks Sports Ltd in a full time capacity. After working under Gary Mellor and Jon Hassall the past 6 years has given me the expertise to come on board with a longstanding, well respected company that has a foothold all over the world. Very exciting times to come and I’m privileged to be given the opportunity. I believe all my qualities and experience I’ve gained over the last 18 years has provided me with everything to be hugely successful in this field and now the time is right for me to do so.
