What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness involves learning to direct our attention to our experience as it unfolds, moment by moment, with open-minded curiosity and acceptance. Rather than worrying about what has happened or might happen, it trains us to respond skilfully to whatever is happening right now, be that good or bad. Evidence for Mindfulness:
Research indicates that mindfulness is a useful tool

for supporting our emotional wellbeing and is shown to reduce stress and increase feelings of well-being. Research has also shown that mindfulness is as effective as medication for depression, and is effective for managing anxiety and chronic pain. Research looking at changes in the brain at the end of the 8 week course indicated changes in areas associated with attention, cognition, memory, empathy and emotional regulation resulting in a reduction in stress levels.
