Join me as I relive my recent eight-day cruise through the Greek Isles🇬🇷....Here’s a peek at our trip..

It was a perfect blend of ancient history, stunning landscapes, and all the luxury you could ask for.

Day 1: Arrival in Valletta, Malta 🇲🇹
Our adventure began with a flight to the beautiful island of Malta, landing in its historic capital, Valletta. This city is a treasure trove of history, with grand fortifications, charming streets, and the breathtaking St. John’s Co-Cathedral. We spent the day exploring the city’s rich heritage, from its bustling markets to its stunning viewpoints. As evening fell, our ship and set sail, watching Valletta’s golden-hued skyline slowly fade into the distance – the perfect start to our journey.

Day 2: Exploring Athens, Greece 🇬🇷
We awoke in the vibrant city of Athens, where ancient history meets modern energy. Our first stop was the iconic Acropolis, where the Parthenon stands proudly against the sky, offering panoramic views of the city below. After soaking in the ancient wonders, we wandered through Plaka, Athens’ oldest neighbourhood, known for its narrow streets, colourful houses, and lively atmosphere. Here, history is alive in every corner, making Athens a city that captures both the past and the present.

Day 3: The Magic of Mykonos 🇬🇷
Day three brought us to Mykonos, the crown jewel of the Cyclades. Mykonos Town is a labyrinth of whitewashed buildings, with charming boutiques, cafes, and views of the iconic windmills that overlook the harbour. After a leisurely morning of exploration, we headed to a luxurious beach club where the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean beckoned. Swimming, sunbathing, and sipping cocktails by the sea – Mykonos is the definition of island paradise.

Day 4: A Day at Sea 🌞
After three days of exploring it was time to relax and enjoy the ship’s offerings. Our day at sea was pure indulgence. We spent the morning on the sun deck, basking in the Mediterranean sunshine, before heading to the spa for some well-deserved pampering. The ship’s amenities kept us entertained, from gourmet dining to world-class entertainment in the evenings. Whether lounging by the pool or catching a show in the auditorium, every moment was a delight.

Day 5: Crete – Spinalonga and Elounda 🇬🇷
Our first stop in Crete took us to Spinalonga, a small island with a big history. Once a Venetian fortress and later a l***r colony, Spinalonga’s ruins tell a poignant story of resilience. After our historical tour, we headed to the charming village of Elounda for a traditional Greek lunch by the sea. Olives, bread, dips and crisp salads made for a perfect meal before returning to our ship.

Day 6: Discovering Chania, Crete 🇬🇷
On our second day in Crete, we explored the town of Chania, famous for its Venetian harbour and rich history. The colourful streets and historic architecture made for a beautiful morning of discovery. We wandered through the alleyways, visited local shops, and even found time to relax on a nearby beach, where the warm Mediterranean waters provided the perfect respite. Chania is a place where time seems to slow down, inviting you to savour every moment.

Day 7: Another Day at Sea 🌅
Our final full day was spent at sea, a chance to relax and reflect on the incredible journey we’d just experienced. We enjoyed every moment on board, from sun-soaked hours by the pool to our last few decadent meals. The day was a perfect blend of relaxation and celebration, as we made the most of the ship’s luxurious amenities one last time.

Day 8: Farewell to the Mediterranean 🇲🇹
On our last day, we arrived back in Malta, ready to catch our flight home. As we disembarked, it was hard to say goodbye to the ship that had been our home for the past week. This cruise was more than just a holiday – it was an experience filled with unforgettable memories, breathtaking destinations, and the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.

Welcome to a New Week!

Yesterday was a perfect Norfolk day for Steve, the hounds, and me.

We had a wonderful walk on the beach-Izzy was raring to go, staring down those steps eager to paddle in the sea 🌊 🐾
It was great to see the dogs splash around in the water cooling off.

We then wandered through a shaded pine forest
a lovely contrast to the beach. The day ended in a stunning sunflower 🌻 field - my favourite flower! They just remind me of summertime fun and sunshine.
