One of the most popular indulgences in Cape Town is definitely Afternoon Tea at the luxurious 5-star Mount Nelson hotel, affectionately known as 'The Nellie' by locals. It was the ideal spot for Mike and Carmalita to have a final gathering with family and friends before bidding goodbye to Africa once again. Even the resident cat made an appearance!

The delectable spread, consisting of both savoury and sweet treats, was fit for royalty. Pink bubbly along with a selection of 7 different teas, were served and all described in intricate detail by a tea connoisseur, who added to the experience.

This internationally acclaimed tradition is a must-do when visiting Cape Town, and don't forget to take a leisurely stroll around the beautifully maintained gardens... if only to work off those indulgent calories! ❤️🍰 🐈‍⬛

Namibia trip - Final chapter

As the sun rose on the last morning at Onguma ... it was almost time to depart for the last destination before Windhoek, as the final countdown to the finish line, of what has been a truly memorable Namibian adventure for Mike, Carmelita and family, had sadly begun. If ever though there was a perfect place in which to end a holiday, although they did not yet know Otjiwa Safari Lodge was it!!

OTJIWA SAFARI LODGE- two nights

The 3.5 hour or so route from Onguma to Otjiwa went via the B1, not far from Otjiwarongo and being the main highway made for excellent driving that takes one straight into Windhoek.

Amidst the beauty of Namibia's oldest game farm, Otjiwa Safari Lodge is the ultimate holiday destination for those in search of an authentic African experience in the breathtaking Namibian wilderness. Although not a big 5 reseve as yet....they offer horse riding, e-biking and general game viewing drives. They plan to introduce cheetah, leopard and lions in the not too distant future.

This fantastic property turned out to be another highlight, for the family, spending a very enjoyable two nights here. Holidays are fabulous...but the reality is, that sometimes after a fair amount of driving, sightseeing and game viewing, you just want a couple of days to chill out and relax and they do not come much more idyllic than this unique location.

Otjiwa Safari Lodge has two accommodation lodges. Mike and Co. stayed at the Eagles Rest lodge in their aptly named 'Elegant Rooms' that were indeed very stylish and comfortable.They got an opportunity though to inspect the exceptionally luxurious Mountain Lodge with one of the most impressive bathroom views they had ever seen!

In summary, Cape Tours is looking forward to working closely with this unique farm style reserve in the future, as offers everything that our kind of client base loves! Beautiful furnishings, magnificent wildlife, endless breathtaking scenery, and a warm, personalized service. It is the kind of place where you can either choose to simply do nothing, enjoying the tranquility and soaking up the endless landscapes, whilst relaxing by the pool or for those looking for something more, they have everything from cooking classes and bush dinners, to cycling, rhino tracking and spa treatments to name a few!

WEINBERG BOUTIQUE HOTEL - one night

The final night was spent back where they started, at the very quaint Weinberg Boutique hotel in Windhoek and enjoyed another great stay. All good things must surely come to an end, but Mike and Carmelita hope they have inspired some of YOU to visit what truly is 'the Soul of Africa' after all. They cannot wait to get back to the UK next week and start planning your next African Sojourn, wherever it may be!
