Neil was involved in a tragic, life-threatening accident on 15th June whilst road testing his bike the day before he was due to take part in Ironman Nice as a celebration of his 50th birthday earlier in the year. He had put his heart and soul into training and this unthinkable accident turned our lives upside down in a matter of moments. I have remained out In Nice since the accident happened and his family have been flying out and visiting which is making such a difference to Neil’s recovery.
Below is the latest update I posted to the Gofundme page I set up to support this completely unexpected and life-changing situation we find ourselves in. I will continue to update this page weekly with Neils progress. Please will Neil on in his biggest challenge to date 💪🧡🖤
As we approach the 3 week mark since Neil’s accident I continue to be amazed, uplifted and in awe of the main man himself and the incredible way he is recovering and taking everything in his stride but also by the continued support, love and generosity shown by you all. I thank you, Neil’s family thank you and our HERO Neil who is showing us his strength & courage every single day thanks you ❤️
Neil remains in ICU and we continue to take things day by day but he is now fully awake, has successfully undergone his final planned surgery and has had his breathing tube out for almost a week, allowing Neil the greatest gift of all to have a voice, a say and to be able to communicate more fully with us. ⭐️
Neils sister and a very good friend are flying out this weekend which Neil is so looking forward to and I tell him every day about all the love & support there is out there for him. I have never been so proud of anyone in my life as I am right now of my incredible love, my fighter, my Ironman, my everything, Neil.
