This talk might be of interest to our followers. Welcome to all those new people who have liked this page. We currently have small groups of Ivybridge residents developing ideas to encourage cycling, trying to develop renewable energy projects, wanting to develop a community veg garden in the town and organising some fun social events to help bring people together. We meet about once a month in a local venue to discuss and plan ideas so please keep an eye on this page and join in if you can. Together we can do more.x

It’s competition time! As part of the Big Garden this year we’re asking how often you see other wildlife, including badgers, squirrels, deer & hedgehogs in your garden, park or local area.

To celebrate we’ve got a Hogilo hedgehog house to give away today! Simply like & share this post to be in with a chance of winning.

Plans to build new houses in an old quarry in Plymouth, could push a Critically Endangered spider, the Horrid ground weaver (Nothophantes horridus), even closer to extinction. We only have one week left to make sure the planning inspectorate know how critical this site is to the spider's survival. T…

Jane's garden 2 years after I designed, built (with the help of Michael Prior) and planted it. It's all now well established, especially the meadow which has required some controlling. Jane has become a gardener and put her own additions into the planting schemes which is brilliant. All looking good (even if I say it myself).

PL:21 Vegetable garden design mark 2. The first one got a great response (other than the cost), but would apparently require a structural engineer to confirm the wall next to the path would be strong enough to support the build. Silly me! I thought a 4 ft wall supporting a youth centre and the ground it is on would take some more bricks and soil, but apparently that's not necessarily the case, so here is the revised design with a more achievable budget. We're going to need lots of help, and lots of oil drums!

Someone has undone my guerilla gardening! All the herbs I planted in the big planter at the entrance to Glanvilles mill have been removed and replaced with bedding plants! Hope they didn't throw them away, there's numerous places in Ivybridge that they could brighten up. Strawberries have been left though. :/

A lovely dose of cuteness

Here's some daily adorable. Shall I make it worse? Baby hedgehogs are known as hedgehoglets.

Even worse? Here's a video of an albino hedgehog snoring: http://bit.ly/RdDfrQ

More guerrilla gardening this evening in an attempt to cheer Ivybridge up abit. Feels ever so mischievous! Could become a habit. Let me know if you notice where I've been.

Am trying to sort out my adverts and need a nice short and catchy description of what I do. Something along the lines of :- 'Creating habitats, increasing diversity and making beautiful places to be', or 'Anybody can have a rotary washing line and decking, it takes a special garden to have nature'. Any ideas would be much appreciated as I'm crap at this!
