We love this.. Congratulations to every child/parent & carer who has been home schooling! Not always easy to navigate the homeschool classroom, homeschool restaurant and general homeschool PA duties but big pat on back! Whether returning to school tomorrow or later, these will definitely be a memento to cherish in years to come once this is all over! x

We're really looking forward to inviting some new students next week! We've had lots of new host families join recently, so wanted to just show you what a typical packed lunch looks like for our students.

The students might bring their own refillable water bottles with them, so please use these rather than buy individual bottles of water. You will soon receive an email with the details of your students names and any extra details that you might need to be aware of, for example any allergies.

Will we be able to understand each other? It's such a common question we get asked! Please don't let the language be a barrier to hosting. The conversation usually flows well, especially when our host families have a go at practicing their French, this usually causes a few giggles and becomes a conversation starter!

Our students vary from early to late teens, they're all learning to speak English at school and practicing their language skills by staying with a host family is all part of their experience. They learn such a great deal by having conversations with host families, even if neither of you are fluent and you need to use hand movements or a piece of paper to draw what you mean! Of course, there's always Google Translate too!

I often hear my children telling people "Mummy works in Sainsbury's car park" which is totally true! I do! However our students also come to our other meeting points in Southborough/Bidborough and Sevenoaks.

We chat to lots of families in the area about becoming a host family. It's a big decision that you need to make sure is right for you and your family. At ISE we are always here to answer your questions, it doesn't matter what you ask, we've heard them all!

We guide you through the process and can put you in touch with our current host families too, giving you the opportunity to really get to the nitty gritty of becoming a host family.

So if you're thinking of becoming a host family and have some questions, please leave them in the comments below. We can answer them but we also invite our current host families to join the conversation and answer the queries too!
