We’re well into 𝘾𝙇𝙄𝘼 𝘾𝙧𝙪𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠, and it’s amazing to see the industry come together to showcase the best of what’s on offer. But with so much choice, how do you, as a first-time cruiser, know what’s right for you? Here’s my suggestion: 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝙞𝙨 𝙠𝙚𝙮! 🔍 Not all cruise lines are created equal. I know, that sounds obvious, but trust me—they’re VERY different. From massive ships carrying 6,000+ guests, packed with escape rooms and water parks, to more intimate ships with around 700 passengers, offering onboard activities but in a much more relaxed atmosphere. One question I get all the time is: “Do I have to dress up in the evening?” The answer? It depends. Some lines have a strict formal dress code, while others are totally happy with “nice meal out at home” attire. How long should your first cruise be? I’d suggest starting with 7 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨. It’s the perfect balance between port days and sea days. Plus, it gives you enough time to find your way around without getting lost on the ship (hopefully)! 🤞🏼 And destination? If you’ve been following me for a while, this won’t surprise you—the 𝙉𝙤𝙧𝙬𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙁𝙟𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙨 is an ideal first-timer’s itinerary. It’s about a week, you can sail from the UK, and the breathtaking scenery will leave you speechless (although I cried) You’ll get a day at sea on both ends to relax and take in the experience. I have been very lucky to visit some wonderful destinations over the years, such as Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Koh Samui, Australia, Greece & Cyprus, Spain and her Islands, the Indian Ocean and extensively around America taking in some of the most spectacular National Parks.
