- Examining materials and learning how to use it.
- Graphite pencils: Pencils containing more graphite are softer and produce darker marks, while pencils containing more binder are harder and produce lighter marks.
- Special effects. Shading: Hatching, scumbling, stippling, crosshatching, blending/smudging.
- Negative space (drawing a rounded shape with shading and lifting ‘colour’).
- Basic proportions of the face (when face is upright): Hairline to eyebrows, eyebrows to the bottom of the nose, bottom of the nose to the bottom of the chin.

AZENART CREATIVE TRAVEL LTD is a travel agency specialized in painting holidays in Italy and France. Our destinations in France and Italy include: Nice (South of France), Venice, Capri, Cinque Terre, Tuscany & Florence, the Amalfi Coast, and Rome. Our goal is to offer unforgettable art holidays in breathtaking destinations. Our small groups stay in the heart of the art (or very close), so as to cut commuting time and therefore have more enjoyable time to paint / or draw on site. We choose comfortable single room accommodation because we believe a holiday is made for comfort and resting. Our tutors are caring, qualified and flexible. They will give you plenty of one to one if that is what you wish as a painting guest. If, on the other hand, you are a more experienced or independent artist, they will your respect your expectations. In both cases, you’ll enjoy being with like-minded people and you’ll be blow away by the painting sites. We paint plein air in a relaxed atmosphere, where everybody can enjoy themselves.
