This stunning self contained studio room has a romantic canopy super-king bed which can also be configured as a twin on request with private entrance and exit, french sliding doors onto your own balcony area, en suite wc/shower room and kitchenette. We just wanted to say hi to introduce or re-introduce ourselves to everyone and to put a face to a name for when we can welcome you!

A few words about us

Some twenty - nine years ago (yikes that was a wee while ago!) East met West when we upped sticks from Aberdeen-shire and literally shipped over to Knoydart, back then boosting the population to 72. For twenty years we had an amazing time running The Old Forge, mainland Britain’s remotest hostelry and have made a lot of great people along the way. Looking after people is what we do best and having sold the pub seven years ago it seemed a natural fit to build Knoydart Hide. Put simply… we love making special people feel special.

Being coastal kids at heart we love the flow and ebb of Loch Nevis under those to-die-for west coast sunsets and starry Milky Way. The effort folks make to get here make the journey well rewarded on arrival and it’s the people who live here for a week, a day or a lifetime that make Knoydart such an interesting place to hang out. Tasting fresh scallops and langoustines from the loch, wild wood sorrel and pier caught mackerel awakened our taste buds. The folk music, fiddles and song tugged at our hearts and we were smitten.

Knoydart became our home and with family in different countries, NZ, Oz, Scotland and Canada our travels have allowed us to step out of the box and understand what makes a house a home. There really is no substitute for travel and Knoydart Hide and Knoydart House Studio Room evolved from a lifelong desire to create very special self-catering accommodation for two. – here we offer something very different, above the radar and below the parapet for some special re-connection time in the wilds.
