Yesterday our guests had an interesting visit to Kyle Lighthouse on Eilean Ban, right by the Skye Bridge. Unlike many lighthouses, it is possible to climb up to the lantern room ...many thanks to Eilean Ban Trust for showing us around.

We wish Lady Florence a happy 80th birthday and share her history with you as our sister ship. Red Moon’s keel was also laid in 1944 but she was launched in 1945 and we will celebrate her 80 years on the water next year ! ❤️

A lovely haul from our local deli Alba's Kitchen Garden, Oban - only belatedly discovered 🫣🙄. Run by the very friendly Rose and with lots of lovely locally ( or Scottish) produced goodies to chose from including tasty smoked cheeses perfect for our next guests, smoked garlic and some elusive green peppercorns in brine ( and pink!). We are very lucky to have such great local suppliers in Oban including lovely Carol at Watts Fish Shop, the fabulous Jackson's butchers and the delicious Oban Chocolate shop 😋

Move over Springwatch ! By a tiny island in the Firth of Lorn we had a magical evening of birdlife - Canada geese, gulls, black guillemots, oystercatchers,little auks, eiders and even beautiful tiny swallows. We were entertained by a herd of mad wild goats rushing about and best of all witnessed a new born seal pup with his/her mum by a wee rock pool for a first swim !
