We work collaboratively with our network organisations in London to enable candidates to access graduate employment. Our candidates are professional people who have been forced to migrate because of the dangerous situations in their home country: including accountants, community workers, graphic designers, international development and human rights professionals, lawyers, scientists and statistici
ans. They come from countries such as Afghanistan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Myanmar (Burma), Sri Lanka, Sudan and Zimbabwe. All Transitions clients are forced migrants (the Home Office term is Refugee). All candidates have full permission to work (with a national insurance number) already and do not require a visa. All are graduates. Many have re-qualified (if necessary) in the UK and many have international work experience. All Transitions candidates must possess advanced English language skills and are multilingual. We provide candidates with: expert support to access the skilled labour market
We provide employers with:
A high quality, competitively priced Transitions Recruitment Agency. (sliding scale fees). We send employers carefully selected candidates with the appropriate skills and experience. We don't waste everyone's time mass forwarding unsuitable candidates. A work placement service for 3-6 months. Transitions supports the whole process, allowing candidates to demonstrate and contribute their skills and giving placement providers access to potential skilled staff and the opportunity to demonstrate measurable equalities input. There are no hidden costs. Placement services are free. Placements, of course, do not automatically result in a paid job. Placement providers who recruit a placementee via their own recruitment systems agree to competitive, Transitions recruitment fees. Transitions, as a social enterprise, reinvests that income into Transitions' work. A measurable CSR and Equalities Act 2010 tool. Transitions expert screening, selection, placements and recruitment services provide organisations with measurable outcomes for Corporate Social Responsibility and Equalities Act 2010 public duty purposes. Refugee professionals are often needlessly unemployed while skills shortages and vacancies exist in their field of work. Many have requalified in the UK but still face unemployment. The biggest problem is usually a lack of UK work experience. Most UK employers see this as a barrier to employing them. Transitions’ screening and selection services to offer a voluntary 3 month work placement to refugee professionals assists them to compete for jobs later on.
