Vivum Garden Design specialises in nurturing and transforming a space, whatever it’s size, into a garden you love; one which works hard both to meet your needs and to inspire you. Whether you’d like help with a complete redesign or want to talk about revamping a particular area or border, we can make it happen. The first stage is an initial visit; for me to come and see your garden and for you to
tell me what you’d like to achieve. An initial visit will take approximately two hours and afterwards I will send you a written summary of all the points we talked about to make sure we covered everything important. This report is then the brief which I use to guide me in any further work. After an initial visit exactly what further work I might do depends completely on your requirements and I can explain all the options in detail. Further work might include all or some of the following:
- create an initial concept to establish in pictures the sort of garden you'd like to achieve;
- do a site survey, which is vital to establish the exact size and shape of the site and any changes in level before the designing can start;
- produce the outline design together with sketches to help you visualise how the plan will look on the ground;
- help you to find a landscaper to build the garden;
- produce the specification and construction and setting out drawings they need and work with them to make sure the design comes together;
- provide a planting plan and plant schedule to source the plants;
- actually do the planting if necessary. Alternatively, if you don't want a design, I can help with written advice and suggestions which might include advice as to the site conditions, suggestions on layout to improve or maximise useable space, suggested locations for elements like a shed, greenhouse or play equipment or planting suggestions suitable for different areas of the garden. So if you have an outdoor space that doesn’t currently work for you for whatever reason - get in touch! Vivum Garden Design is based in South Somerset, working throughout the South West of England.
