This seems to be happening more and more and is awful to see!

🪨 Gibraltar 🪨

We took a day trip over the border to see the monkeys and they didn’t disappoint!

Points to note:

🚶🏻‍♂️‍➡️🚶🏻‍♂️‍➡️🚶🏻‍♀️‍➡️ big queues at the border coming and going (and the UK line was huge!)

🚌 I would recommend a bus tour of the rock…unless you like hiking up steep mountains

The bus tours have up to 5 stops, we went to the most Southern point in Europe, the natural reserve (where the monkeys were) and the caves (which were amazing!).

Great for a day trip, however as it was a 2hr drive to get there we were tight for time and it was a looooong day. I would recommend a few days but I think any longer and I would get a bit bored….

A perfect example of why you should book your holiday through a travel agent….

The closure of Dubai airport due to heavy storms has been a major feature of this week’s international travel news. As the second-busiest airport in the world, it unsurprisingly caused one or two problems. Connections across Asia were worst-affected, and continue to be despite the airport reopening yesterday.

It might not sound like that big a deal—weather happens everywhere, after all. But the usually arid country experienced the largest amount of rainfall it's seen in more than 75 years! Other parts of the UAE and the Middle East have been badly affected, too, with Oman experiencing unprecedented flash flooding

If you booked through a travel agent and were stuck, they would be dealing with any flight amendments on your behalf taking ALOT of stress off you when you’re abroad.

❗️7 life lessons your children pick up when they travel ❗️

1. Humility. Travel teaches them that the world is a vast and diverse place, and they occupy only a small part of it. This perspective helps them appreciate the value of what they have. Plus shows that happiness doesn’t come from materialistic things.

2. Boosted cultural awareness. We can only understand different cultures fully in real life. By spending time in unfamiliar cultures, we all – but especially children – open our eyes to different ways of living. Learning comes to life when we come face-to-face with different people, places and cultural traditions in reality.

3. It’s good to try new things. Being stuck in the same routine can cause our lives to stagnate. All of us have felt this at some stage. In contrast, no two days are the same on the road. Travel encourages children to take the leap and try new things.

4. Decision making and problem solving. Travel isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes you find yourself in a tight spot, faced with transport delays, radical weather, lost luggage or other unforeseen issues. You have to think on your feet to find solutions. It’s important for children to be in these environments to learn the value of positive decision making and problem solving. Their patience, adaptability, assertiveness and resilience will improve.
