Brazil …. The Pantanal - home of the Jaguar (and other animals)
Toucans, Tapir, macaws, capybara, crocodiles, jaguars (of course), and so much more.
Occasional sightings of Ocelot, armadillo, giant ant eaters.
The Pantanal is the largest Biome in the world.
We also include Rio de Janeiro and Iguassu Falls on this trip.
It’s our last night here on the Galápagos Islands. It’s 8.30pm and I’m already in bed. (I did a lot of swimming and snorkelling today and I’m exhausted !)
I can hear the sea lions in the harbour making their barking noises to each other not far away…. Every now and again they remind me where I am and where they are !
We have seen so many sea lions on this trip…. We have swam with them, we have tripped up over them when we’ve been to the pier and we have been completely charmed by them.
We have swam with turtles, we have swam with far too many sharks - all shapes and sizes. If I’m honest I’m still a little bit freaked that we are able to swim with so many sharks. Where else eh ?
We have swam with Rays - eagle rays and manta ray. I seem to have spent so much time snorkelling here that I’m beginning to feel like the next Jacques or (Jackie) Cousteau!
But our time here on the 3 islands has been wonderful.
I last came here over 10 yrs ago when I worked for another company and I honestly didn’t fall in love with the Galapagos. We visited one island and I found it a bit disappointing.
BUT This trip has been so different. We’ve stayed on 3 very different islands. We have discovered them all and loved all of their differences.
This time, I can honestly say I have fallen in love with the Galapagos,
It really is a special place. The animals here are wild but they’ve never been hunted and are so approachable because of it.
This afternoon I swam with about 20 sharks. Part of me was terrified and part of me was just in awe.
I’ll be sad to leave tomorrow BUT I’m one of the lucky ones as I get to come back in a couple of weeks time and once more swim the sharks and turtles.
Thank you all so much for following the trip. I’m looking forward to bringing my next group here very soon.
In the meantime, I’ll leave you with a video from today’s snorkelling Experience.
Our last day in the Galápagos Islands today.
It’s planned to be a pretty chilled boat trip out to Kicker rock and some beach time
A little video of the highlights of our trip so far !
Sea Lions of Isabella
Lovely to spend time with these two, watching them play.
I got a bit close to the one but managed to get out of the way in time.
Playful sea lions
Adios Isabella island .. until next time,
A video of the whole morning …
Sea horses, shark (white tipped), turtles, cactus, sea lions, blue footed boobies penguin, sting ray.
What a fabulous morning swimming with turtles, sting rays, sharks, sea horses, sea cucumbers. We saw penguins, blue footed boobies and of course our friends the sea lions.
Just a perfect morning in paradise.
Oh… and we snorkelled through lava tunnels. A pretty cool morning !
My camera just automatically created this little collection from yesterday at North Seymour.
And the last one I shall post from today. But you get the idea … it was a lot of fun!!
Another video photo dump…
Today is a photo dump day…. So more photos from my GoPro … underwater photos / and wet landing photos.
Here we go….
The footage of the sea lion swimming next to me will have to be edited before I can post it …. As I swore very loudly with a very bad word.. but in my defence he did frighten the living daylights out of me!
If the Galapagos is not on your bucket list - then it really should be .
And preferably with Experium Travel.
What a fabulous morning with the frigate birds / sea lions / snorkelling with the fish and a few sharks.
I’m beginning to remember why I love these islands.
I’m about to photo dump some photos / videos from the morning,
The idea is that I want you to wish you were here …. Ha ha,
