It’s the final show day here in Hannover at the final ever Kleines Fest in Grossen Garten with Harald Bohlmann as the festival director. He’s built this festival up from being 3 consecutive weekends of Outdoor Arts shows in the gardens of Herrenhausen some 36 ish years ago (I’m not sure exactly the number but it’s a lot!), to 4 solid weeks of 6 days a week of shows. 40+ stages and 20+ walk acts roaming the gardens. It’s immense. It’s always sold out immediately for every date as soon as tickets are released online, even long before the artistic programme is released! I’ve never come across another festival like it. As an artist it’s the holy grail to get booked at! It’s been absolutely fundamental to us growing as an arts company, The Show Globe is what it is today because of our time at this festival 💯

I first performed here on stage with my acrobatics and tango comedy show Strictly Dumb Prancing in 2012 during the retirement finale year of that show, then 4 more years with The Show Globe as a walkact. We’ve been so lucky!

It feels like doing a marathon of street theatre when you’re here 😂.
Harald and Ghita are so loved and respected in this community for the family environment they create amongst the artists each year. It’s so rare to really spend so much time all in one place and properly get to make friendships that last us all through our careers across the world as we meet up at other festivals. Kleines Fest is the glue that sticks us all together.

I’ve thousands of pictures of us performing here over the 48 shows we’ve done over the last 4 weeks but I’ve chosen this one to represent. We took this pic a couple of nights ago with Heliosphere by Dream Engine. Especially fun for me as a previous “dangler/aerialist” below Heliosphere many years ago. They’re the reason I first heard of this festival 17 years or so ago, it’s great to be here together at the same time for the big send off for Harald.
