We have some spring dates still available: 15 – 26 April. Shangri-la is situated in one acre of wooded grounds which merge into the sand dunes. Listen to the sound of the sea with your morning coffee before a walk along the beach. Enjoy the tranquillity of this unique, isolated and unspoilt coastal heaven.

The beautiful contemporary house is set immediately behind the sand dunes at one of Norfolk's best and quietest beaches. The one acre of private, wooded and secluded garden is perfect for family games and relaxing.

With two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom, the house comfortably accommodates up to six guests. The open plan living, dining and kitchen space is perfect the perfect for bringing everyone together.

We're fast approaching the best time of the year for a stay on the east Norfolk coast. The main draw at this time of year is, undoubtably, the seals. These photos were taken a few years ago by one of our guests who kindly allowed us to use them. The seals can be seen just a short walk down the beach from Shangri-la (the house is located immediately behind the dunes, a true beach house). An autumn and winter stay at Shangri-la is all about long beach walks by the stormy sea with the prospect of a cosy evening meal at the nearby . We've still got some availability over the autumn and winter, full details of dates and offers on our website.

Holiday in modern luxury

Shangri-La is a modern, self-catering holiday let, a re-interpretation of the shacks and chalets that are found along the Norfolk coast. It was designed by awarding winning practice Mole Architects and offers a different experience from a traditional Norfolk holiday cottatge. The house has 3 generous double-bedrooms, 2 equipped with king size beds and one with 2 single beds. The main living accommodation consists of an open plan space, comprising kitchen, dining and living areas. There is a small, separate TV/kids room, and utility area. The design of the house is complimented by original and modern furniture and lighting. The south-facing elevation is largely glazed and offers expansive and uninterpreted views across the coastal plain towards the Broads.

The house is set in extensive grounds of around an acre. There is a large area of grass which is great for playing games, areas for just sitting in the shade and areas for having a BBQ and eating. A boutique hotel experience in your own holiday let.

Shangri-la is built to Passivhaus standards which means it meets the highest possible environmental targets for energy consumption. It is also incredibly comfortable (warm in the winter and cool in the summer) achieving this with little or no active heating.
