And it’s that time of year again !! 🤩

Blue Thunder and Blue Lightning are in for their annual health check-up and having works completed. The images below is Blue Lightning having a full service on the pair of 300hp Yamaha engines. Blue Lightning has also been updated with a brand new, latest and greatest Raymarine Chart-Plotter as well as minor repairs and a full hull scrub !! 🧽

The last image is of me trying to look busy and lending a hand to the lads in the workshop at Rock Marine Services Ltd. It’s a proper man cave in there, boats everywhere 😂

Blue Thunder is undergoing major works, she is being re-powered with brand new engines! More on that soon so stay tuned as I will be uploading the process. 🚤

What an absolutely incredible weekend we have had and it has certainly been an unforgettable one to say the least. After looking at the forecasts and interpreting we identified a clear spell of weather window so decided to take the plunge and launch some of our vessels. This is unusual as at this time of year as we don’t usually have calm enough seas and mild enough weather to actually run trips.

The Saturday I (Tom Mursa) was skippering Blue Lightning and I was totally blown away by the sheer amount of activity that was unfolding in St Ives Bay. There were sea birds flying around in the thousands such as Gannets, Cormorants and SeaGulls, Dolphins literally every direction you looked and feed such as Sardines and Pilchards skimming along the surface of the water. Not to mention the seals that were out in the hundreds. There was wildlife in abundance. Some of the sights were totally incredible. I mentioned this to a few other lads that’s work with us Mathew Henry Fowler and Kaelyb Hughes and told them to have a look for themselves. So on the Sunday (today) they did just that. They ran the trips all day and they were met with the exact same show. Have a look through the images and videos. It was really amazing to see just how playful and inquisitive the dolphins are with us it really was extraordinary.

Trips will be running tomorrow (Monday) however this will be the last of the boat rides for a few days and strong winds are expected. As many of you will know, St Ives bay is very different in the winter as it is in the summer months

A little clip from Yamaha Marine - As a charter and tour business we look for engines that offer high reliability as well as lots of power. Over the years we have tried lots of different engines (lots of good engines out there) but for us Yamaha are our engine of choice. They have really fulfilled and served the purpose we need them for. This is why we have made an order for another set.
