🌍 6 years today! Where has the time gone?

It's been an incredible journey and continues to be, with many exciting things happening this year - including lots of travel, of course!
I am truly thankful for the incredible support of my fellow TCs, our wonderful Head Office team and the vision of our Senior Management Team, keeping us at the top of our game.
However, the biggest thank you has to go to my wonderful clients, without you it would just be me and the cat, sitting in my office, daydreaming about travel. 😁✈️

Here's to country no.60 and 61 later this year, to celebrating 30 years as a company at our conference in November and helping many more people realise their travel dreams.

🇱🇰 First glimpse of Sri Lanka - a field of pineapples and a 🌈!

25 hours total travel time, to arrive at Taru Villas - well worth it! It looks lovely after dark and can't wait to see it in the morning, although we'll have to wait as up at 4am for a sunrise hike.

🌍 This should be cheese fondue.

So, a short work trip to Switzerland has resulted in an epic journey, culminating in me having my favourite dessert in Lisbon Airport. Every cloud! 😊

Poor visibility at 7am cancelled the direct flight from London City to Geneva.
Tube to Heathrow to catch reprotected flight with TAP Air, via Lisbon.
Should arrive Geneva at 23.15, 11 hours late, so now a night at the airport hotel and 6am train to Brig.
Tired? Yes.
Looking forward to my Swiss adventure? ABSOLUTELY. 🇨🇭

(TAP Airlines are very good, excellent legroom!)

🌍 Anyone in travel knows how crazy busy January is, so I was very grateful last week for the invitation to take a few hours off, meet a hotel partner, catch up with colleagues and enjoy a wonderful lunch. We were hosted at ME London, one of the Melia properties, where we had chance to chat with several managers from around the world and learn more about this family owned company, and their plans for 2023.
Whether you're looking for a weekend break in our glorious capital city, or pre theatre dinner and drinks, I can recommend this hotel. Excellent location on The Strand, delicious food and the most amazing views from the roof top bar. Go whilst the weather is still chilly and experience the igloo for yourself!

🌍 Arrived in Zagreb this evening for a few days to experience the city and the Christmas markets, with the Croatia Tourist Board. We're staying at the Canopy Hilton in the City Centre and first impressions are fab! Time to recharge ahead of sight seeing tomorrow...that bed looks so comfy... 😴 😌

What a busy few days we had in Liverpool for our Travel Counsellors Annual Conference. It was the first time we've all got together since Nov 2019 and it felt so good!
Catching up with friends, colleagues, directors and head office team, as well as many of our wonderful suppliers, hearing from great speakers such as Paul Mckenna, Rebecca Adlington, Bianca Miller-Cole and Sir Lenny Henry...I'm still processing it all. Plus great evening entertainment from KimberlyWyart, Boyzlife and Clean Bandit, who I sadly missed as I'd gone to bed!
Great to hear where the company is going next, and the investment being made to ensure our customers continue to get the best experience when booking with TC.
Thanks to all who helped make it such a great weekend and here's to 2023 - my hotel room is already booked! 😄

🌏 So happy to be in Liverpool for the Travel Counsellors Conference, meeting fellow TCs, head office colleagues and our wonderful supplier partners - many for the first time in 3 years.

In early 2020 no-one could foresee what was in store, and just how tough life was going to get for everyone globally - regardless of personal circumstances.
There is nowhere I would rather have been than part of the TC family. We came together, did the right thing by our customers, and we are now celebrating not just our survival but our incredible growth as a company.
The next few days will be busy yet we'll find time to let our hair down and celebrate what it means to be a TC.
On a personal level, I would like to thank all my amazing customers for booking with me and referring me to friends and family. I have had my best year since joining TC and I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you so much ❤️✈️

🌴🌵 I make no apologies for the number of flora and fauna photos coming your way. I cannot adequately express the beauty of this place.
The Inn offers a complimentary tour with one of the gardeners to gain a better understanding of the plants, and the important work being done to protect some rare species.

🇰🇳 Refreshing shower - and kudos to Google weather app!

After an amazing breakfast I was treated to a garden tour with Alvin, one of the gardeners here at Golden Rock. More pics to follow. Resting from the heat on my balcony, at 11.45am, I thought I'd check the weather for the next week and saw it said 55% chance of rain at midday. Well I looked at the clear blue sky and thought no chance!

🌏 🇰🇳 St Kitts & Nevis, Day 2, part 2.
After a "church with a view" we finished today's island tour at Black Rocks, where lava from the last eruption of Mount Liamuiga flowed to the sea.
Back at Timothy Beach it was time for a local Carib beer at The Shiggedy Shack while the sun went down. Love the fact that the owner, Mr X, hasn't let the lack of land stop him from growing his lettuces. 😁
