We want to apologise to our customers for the ongoing disruption to bus services caused by the freezing weather last week.

The extreme temperatures have had a knock-on effect on vehicle systems, particularly batteries, engines, and air systems, which can struggle in sub-zero conditions. This has impacted our ability to run some services as scheduled.

These conditions are affecting many transport operators, but we are doing everything we can to address the issues. Our engineers, drivers and support teams are working tirelessly around the clock to repair vehicles and restore normal service as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. We are committed to getting back on track and providing the reliable service you expect. For the latest updates, please check our website, app and social media channels.

Our INCREDIBLE , Stephen Duffy! 🚌

Stephen received a lovely compliment from one of our passengers:

👏 "Just wanted to thank the bus driver for the consideration he showed my Dad when travelling on the bus. My father is elderly and uses a walking frame.

🥰 He's always a bit anxious getting on and off buses but this driver ensured the bus was lowered to pavement height to assist my dad and was friendly and patient towards him.

❤️ I wanted to say THANK YOU! Little things can make the biggest difference!"

❗️ IMPORTANT INFORMATION ❗️

From 2 January 2025 there will be changes to our fares.

Since January 2023, most adult single fares have been capped by the UK Government at £2. However, from January 2025, single fares will be capped at £2.50 across almost all bus services in Tyne & Wear, County Durham and Northumberland.

Keep in mind that some of our adult single fares will be less than £2.50, and cheap fares for under-22s won't change – the £1 single and £3 day ticket will continue to provide excellent value for money!

This new fare cap is being funded jointly by the North East Combined Authority’s Bus Service Improvement Plan and the Department for Transport’s National Bus Fare Cap grant.
