📣 We’re delighted to share that as of Monday 13th January, JEM Tennis will be heading up our coaching programme at Swanmore! 👏🏻

We’re really looking forward to working with the JEM Tennis team as they continue to grow our fantastic coaching programme.

Following the departure of popular Head Coach, Mike Johnson, and his support coaches in late 2024, Swanmore Lawn Tennis Club is pleased to announce its new coaching team and set up for 2025.

After 12 years of coaching at Swanmore Tennis Club, we sadly said goodbye to coach Mike Johnson on Sunday.

Mike has been part of Swanmore Tennis Club since he was a junior, appearing multiple times on our honours boards and winning many junior titles across Hampshire.

Mike became a coach at Swanmore in 2012 and has since dedicated his time and enthusiasm for the benefit of players at Swanmore.

He has built up a thriving Junior Coaching programme at the Club and imparted his knowledge to many adults, encouraging and developing their skills and strategic play.

We thank him wholeheartedly for his unwavering commitment to the Club and wish him every success and happiness going forward.

We had a great turn out for our annual mince pie and mayhem Christmas tournament today, and we were super impressed by some of outfits! Well done to Sue Knott the overall Piper Cup winner!

We’re pleased to share that the Club recently came away with 5 trophies in the Portsmouth and District Masters League 2023/24 awards ceremony! Congratulations to all our players involved for achieving a great result. To top this off, the Club was honoured to collect the Colin Manvell Award for Sportsmanship in the Masters League 2024. We are so proud to be recognised as the best in the masters divisions for friendliness and fair play. 🏆

At the Awards evening in October, Swanmore came away with an impressive 5 trophies from the Masters League. The Ladies first and second teams respectively won Division 1 and Division 2 in the Winter, whilst the Men’s team won in both the Winter and Summer competitions.

We are absolutely blown away by the support and donations we had in aide of our Macmillan Cancer Support tennis tournament today.

It was amazing to see so many people turn up to play in our friendly tennis tournament. Thank you to everyone who brought tea and cake and to our organisers who made the day possible. And of course congratulations to our tournament winners!

Thanks to some incredibly generous raffle prize donations we managed to raise over £800 which absolutely exceeded our expectations.

We are so delighted to share that one of our long standing club members, Jake Guerreri won not only a bronze in table tennis, but gold for tennis in the 18-29 age category during the recent Transplant Games in Nottingham.

This is an incredible achievement considering this is within two years of Jake gaining a liver transplant.

Over the summer, Jake has started representing SLTC in our league matches and recently came runner up in our men’s singles club tournament. We are so pleased to see him back on court!

Jake takes medals at the Transplant Games Before Jake’s 11th birthday, his father predicted that he would surpass his three elder brothers in their tennis prowess before reaching 21.

On Sunday, the Swanmore Lawn Tennis Club Open Singles Tournament took place and we were so impressed by the standard of matches that took place. Well done to everyone who took part, without your entries we couldn’t hold these tournaments!

Congratulations to our men’s overall winner George Feeney, our men’s plate winner Ethan Carter, and to Sam Hutchinson for winning the women’s singles. And of course, well done to our runners up, Tom Wojtak, Jake Guerreri and Danya Ragab!

Wow, did we have some amazing tennis last weekend during our annual Club Doubles Tournament. The weather was crazy, the barbecues were brilliant, and the atmosphere was buzzing. A big thank you to everyone who signed up and played over the weekend, you all made it a great club event. A big well done to all our winners, plus our runners up and to everyone that took part.
