TRAFFIC LIGHT RULES CHANGING IN ENGLAND
Hi everyone,
No Amber List for England!
I hope you have seen the news that the traffic light system for England has been changed with only a Red List remaining. Green and Amber will merge to become a 'Rest of World' list.
The really great news is that from 4am (BST) on 22 Sep 21, eight countries will come OFF the English red list. They are the Maldives, Turkey, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Oman, Bangladesh, Kenya and Pakistan.
Additionally, from 4 Oct 21, fully vaccinated people returning to England, from non-red list countries, will no longer need to take PCR tests in-resort prior to returning to the England and a lateral flow test will replace the day 2 PCR test.
Here's hoping Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland follow suit ASP.
Obviously the FCO guidance still needs to be followed and we still need to understand the destination country's rules as well.

SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL
Last week I announced the launch of our Climate Heroes initiative in partnership with Mossy Earth. The positive reaction from our clients has been absolutely fantastic.
Mossy Earth is a social enterprise incorporated as a private limited company in the United Kingdom with a ‘for profit’ structure. They are not a charity. Mossy Earth’s objective is to create independent and sustainable long-term funding mechanisms for impactful rewilding, reforestation and conservation projects. Their core focus is to help restore, protect and enhance a wide range of important and threatened wild ecosystems through a process that is transparent.
For each and every one of our planting areas, Mossy Earth maps the area and records the number of trees planted. With drone flyover footage, aerial 360 images, and a biologist walkthrough video of the planting areas. We have teamed-up with Mossy Earth who are undertaking re-wilding projects world-wide. This is not just about planting trees, but rather about re-establishing eco-systems from ponds to forests to oceans. Sea grass for instance captures 30% more carbon than planting trees alone.
Current projects we support are: Protecting and Restoring Sea Grass in Portugal; Conserving and Reintroducing Termite Mounds in West Africa; Restoring Ponds in the UK, Restoring The Caledonian Forest in Scotland and Studying the Impact of Tourism on Sea Otters in California.

Travel is Opening Up!
Travel is finally opening for double vaccinated travellers!
Finally, some fantastic news for travellers in England has just been announced by the UK Government – people who have had both vaccinations will no longer be required to self-isolate when returning from amber list countries.
This easing of restrictions will come into effect on the 19th of July, when all remaining Covid restrictions will be dropped.
Northern Ireland's Executive is yet to make an announcement but an indicative date of 26th July is being muted. For Scotland an announcement is apparently going to be made 'shortly' and for Wales 'in due course'. Hopefully this will happen for everyone before the end of July.
What does this mean for you?
For those of you in England who have had both of your vaccinations, the options you have for summer holidays has just opened up hugely, with over 30 countries recognising the double vaccination rule. For those who haven’t yet had both vaccines, you now have the assurance of knowing you can plan and book your next holiday with confidence. With imminent decisions from NI, Scotland and Wales it may well be worth making plans in readiness for the relevant announcement.
Of course, it’s important to remember that it’s not only the UK Government’s rules that need to be considered, but also the individual rules of the countries that we wish to travel to, and it’s vital we understand this before booking any holiday.

I would like to introduce our latest initiative.
Have you heard of carbon offsetting and travel companies who promise to offset carbon emissions created by your travel?
It is calculated that 4 hours of flying equates to 1 ton of carbon for an economy class seat and 3 tons for business class!
Well, we are taking the drive to reduce the impact of carbon created by travel a step further (read my blog on my web page to see what you can do to reduce your direct impact of travelling).
We are supporting 'Mossy Earth' who are approaching carbon capture in a completely new way. They are looking for sustainable solutions coupled with ones that put back in place the complete eco-system - so when they plant trees its not just about the trees, but the entire eco-system around the forest and encouraging the natural bio-diversity.
Also Mossy Earth take a holistic view of the planet and are investing in developing/re-planting bio-diverse eco-systems such as sea grass (which incidentally provides 30% more effective at carbon capture than trees).
We are not asking for a payment equal to your carbon emissions or a percentage of your trip cost. We ask for a voluntary flat £5pp per trip of which 80% WILL be used on the projects. The other 20% is needed for admin to make the projects happen.

CARBON HERO Hi, I would like to introduce our latest initiative. Have you heard of carbon offsetting and travel companies who promise to offset carbon emissions created by your travel? It is calculated that 4 hours of flying equates to 1 ton of carbon for an economy class seat and 3 tons for business class! Well, we are taking the drive to reduce the impact of carbon created by travel a step further (read my blog on my web page to see what you can do to reduce your direct impact of travelling). We are supporting 'Mossy Earth' who are approaching carbon capture in a completely new way. They are looking for sustainable solutions coupled with ones that put back in place the complete eco-system - so when they plant trees its not just about the trees, but the entire eco-system around the forest and encouraging the natural bio-diversity. Also Mossy Earth take a holistic view of the planet and are investing in developing/re-planting bio-diverse eco-systems such as sea grass (which incidentally provides 30% more effective at carbon capture than trees). We are not asking for a payment equal to your carbon emissions or a percentage of your trip cost. We ask for a voluntary flat £5pp per trip of which 80% WILL be used on the projects. The other 20% is needed for admin to make the projects happen. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference. I hope that you will all consider taking up the option whenever it is offered.
