How incredible is baby sign!
I had a very excited mumma send me this video yesterday. Little T put himself on the sofa then clearly signed he needed his nappy changed. Look how happy he is because mumma understood what he wanted ❤️❤️

We will do everything we can to make our rooms as cool as we can, and will limit movement to try to keep us and everyone else cool, but please understand there is only a certain amount we can do to try to cool our venues down.

In this beautiful video of little D you can see her sign “more”, her wonderful mum then praises her and repeats the sign back and little D signs it once more.
The more praise your little one gets, the more they will sign and we all know that repetition is key. By returning the sign back little D knows she is understood 🥰🥰🥰

“Will signing with my baby delay their speech?”
A question I get asked every now and again.
No. In fact it does the opposite.
Look at beautiful little M here for example, look at her tiny fingers, first pointing at what she can hear and then signing. With the sound up you can hear her clearly saying “bird”
Signing does not delay speech, it encourages it.
Signs are never used in place of spoken words and your baby will be greatly encouraged to communicate verbally, not in any way discouraged.
The simplest way to appreciate this is to consider how “Bye-bye” is often among the earliest words babies say. Think about how we all encourage babies to wave bye bye, recognising they will enjoy this and that it helps to make them aware of an important concept. Waving encourages a baby to verbalise “bye bye” because of the positive feedback and enjoyment of the sign. The principle is exactly the same for signs used with any and all other words in the Sing and Sign programme.
Once the words are in place you will see the signs start to fall away 😍

Today is International Earth Day.
I try to do my best for the environment. Last year I swapped using tin foil for using reusable beeswax paper, not only has it saved us money but it has saved me using a HUGE amount of tinfoil which wouldn’t have been reused or recycled.
There is always more we can do to protect our Earth for our future generations.

I’m going to make a conscious effort to stick to this mantra going forward 🌎🌍🌏
M O V E M E N T … will my baby be able to sit still at Sing and Sign??? 😬
In a word, no! And guess what, we don’t want them to! 😃
Babies are not designed to sit still… If you're still in the non-mobile phase, please make the most of it because life is about to become BUSY! 😅
But here’s the thing, movement is incredibly powerful in enhancing our ability to learn. Movement gets the blood flowing and boosts the development of neural connections, helping the child learn faster! 🤓
It amazes me no end that right from Babes we encourage our parents to adopt different ‘positions’ throughout the session so your baby gets the movement they need to aid their focus, before they can even move themselves! 👌
For our busy older babies, it doesn’t matter if they don’t sit and watch me for the duration of the class. They will absolutely tune in to their favourite bits but you will be amazed what these Little Ones absorb whilst wandering around the room, making friends and even doing pull-ups on my table! 🤣 We’ve had many a Wanderer who have turned out to be super signers and remember, the main thing is that I teach you and you teach your baby every day between classes! What they miss in class, they will learn in between!💡
So please don’t worry if you have a busy baby… Neither babies nor tots are ever expected to sit still at Sing and Sign. Busy babies = big brains! 🤩
