Powells Cottage Holidays are self-catering holiday specialists based in Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire. Here is a little bit of history on how we got started!

Powells Cottage Holidays is an independent letting agency with an office based in Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire. We have over 50 years of providing good quality holiday cottages and apartments in the best locations. The founders, Joan and Michael Powell inherited a small legacy in 1963, which enabled them to partially finance their own holiday home to take their large family of five children on holi

day. The property was then rented out to finance the rest of the purchase price. It turned out to be a great success and from that day forward they were able to build and rent out several more properties offering quality accommodation in Tenby and Saundersfoot. Inevitably they soon became agents for other owners and extended into other areas. With the help of dedicated and loyal staff and over the 50 years in business, the business expanded with strategically placed offices opening in Saundersfoot in Wales and St. Ives in Cornwall, all offering a personal service to both owners and visitors. Our property portfolio now covers both coastal and rural areas in Pembrokeshire and the Gower Peninsula. Our team of Property Managers reside in these areas and therefore can provide excellent local knowledge and experience. Other benefits include a close liaison with owners and visits at short notice if required. Our team have personally visited all of the properties in our portfolio, ensuring greater product knowledge to our guests ensuring that we find just the right property. Powells Cottage Holidays is one of a small group of locally focused brands owned by The Original Cottage Company Limited, which is a family-owned, private limited company.

A couple of weeks ago our team enjoyed their second litter pick of the year in association with the Keep Wales Tidy - Cadwch Gymru'n Daclus Spring Clean Cymru event.

They headed out to Saundersfoot beach and Owain from the Mumbles office, kindly came and joined in too on his day off.

The weather was glorious and it was great to get out of the office and onto the beautiful beaches, in the fresh air. Afterwards they celebrated a job well done with some delicious millionaire shortbread and biscotti rocky road. 😋

A bird's eye view of Caldey Island

Wow. This is the incredible Caldey Island. A pleasant boat trip from Tenby Harbour takes you to this beautiful and fascinating island. Caldey Island has been inhabited since the Stone Age, and has been home to various orders of monks since Celtic times. It is now owned by monks of the Cistercian Order, whose picturesque monastery overlooks the Village Green and the pretty cottages of the islanders. If you are looking for an unforgettable day out, then you've got to head to Caldey Island. This viewpoint is just around the corner from Strumble Head Lighthouse, and has views across to St Davids." - Ailish, from the team 📍 Pwll Deri, Pembrokeshire 🐦 #TrulyLocalTip If you like birdwatching, then this is a great place to spot Choughs. The chough is rare around Britain’s coast but the birds can often been seen along this stretch of coast. Glossy black, they are easy to identify as their beak and legs are a vivid pink.
