Megalithomania Megalithomania was created as an open forum to debate the megalithic arts and sciences.
(1)

Megalithomania was founded by Hugh Newman, John Martineau and Gareth Mills in the winter of 2005. Inspired by the incredible research of numerous authors, the conference was created to become an open forum to debate the megalithic arts and sciences. The team felt that history books and colleges do not present the evidence that is being discovered today. Revelations in the fields of archaeoastronom

y, geomancy, mathematics, ley alignments, sacred geometry and other cutting-edge disciplines are helping rewrite our own history, but are often completely overlooked by the academic world. Many people want to know where we came from and connect to our ancestors so we hope that this annual event can be part of that process.

NEW VIDEO | Spain's GIGANTIC Megaliths Defy Explanation | Megalithomania | https://youtu.be/SPsA8gei2xE

An exploration of the massive Antequera Dolmens in Andalusia, Spain. The Viera Chamber (discovered by the Viera brothers in 1903) is the smaller one with a tiny chamber at the end. The Menga Dolmen, on the other hand, is gigantic, with an 180 ton block making up its roof. At the back of this giant dolmen, in the centre of the floor, is a 30m deep well perfectly carved from the bedrock and with water at its bottom. Thought to be built in from 3700 BC onwards, their origins are still unclear. The chambers look out on to "Lovers Rock" (Peña de los Enamorados), a recumbent simulacra of a face, the axis-mundi of the area. The El Romeral Dolmen is a few km away and has a corbeled roof and intricate stonework with a remarkable 'tholos' design. The massive megaliths making up the tomb are thought to be 2000 years younger than the nearby Menga Dolmen and Viera Dolmen. Hugh Newman also explores a possible site of an occupational mound that the builders may have lived upon, as well as the 'Lover's Rock' that dominates the landscape, and theorises about their importance.

RARE Olmec Statues in Ancient Mexico | Megalithomania | See the full video: https://youtu.be/PhrIXDMCF14

The Olmec culture of Mexico date from as early as 1600 BC. A rarely visited site, which is on private land near San Lorenzo, Veracruz is called El Azuzul, part of a larger Olmec complex called Loma del Zapote. On a recent visit I was taken by the landowner to a private museum and got to see two remarkable sculptures that are not known to the public. El Azuzul is famous because in the late 80's and early 90's 'twin' statues of a deity and two monumental jaguar statues were unearthed, now on display at Xalapa Museum.

NEW VIDEO | Underground Mega-City | Derinkuyu Is Much Older Than You Think | Megalithomania | https://youtu.be/QpGxAhYrSXI

Derinkuyu is an ancient multi-level underground city in Nevşehir Province, Turkey, going down 85 metres (280 ft). 20,000 people could have stayed there, along with livestock and food storage. Officially it is no older than 800 BC but evidence suggests that the first levels could be up to 12,000 years old or possibly much older according to historian Omer Demir. It has over 20 km of tunnels, one that may stretch 8 km to Kaymakli, another underground city. It is fitted with huge circular stone doors, massive wells and air vents. Its purpose is unknown but it has been speculated it was to hide from some type of cataclysm or invaders, or may have had a more sacred purpose. Featuring Andrew B Collins and Hugh Newman.

The offer ends on 31st January, and also note that we have held the price down for this particular trip. Costs have gone up in Turkey and will be reflected in future tours. PLUS there is a chance that a roof may be built over Karahan Tepe later this year, so it could close for some time. So....this is your chance to see these remarkable sites at a decent price, when everything is still open!
