Megalithomania Megalithomania was created as an open forum to debate the megalithic arts and sciences.
(18)

Megalithomania was founded by Hugh Newman, John Martineau and Gareth Mills in the winter of 2005. Inspired by the incredible research of numerous authors, the conference was created to become an open forum to debate the megalithic arts and sciences. The team felt that history books and colleges do not present the evidence that is being discovered today. Revelations in the fields of archaeoastronom

y, geomancy, mathematics, ley alignments, sacred geometry and other cutting-edge disciplines are helping rewrite our own history, but are often completely overlooked by the academic world. Many people want to know where we came from and connect to our ancestors so we hope that this annual event can be part of that process.

A world-renowned authority on cuneiform, the form of writing on clay tablets which dates back to 3400 BC, Irving Finkel has embarked upon an ancient ghost hunt, scouring these tablets to unlock the secrets of the Sumerians, Babylonians and Assyrians to breathe new life into the first ghost stories ever written. In his research he has uncovered an extraordinarily rich seam of ancient spirit wisdom which has remained hidden for nearly 4000 years, covering practical details of how to live with ghosts, how to get rid of them and bring them back, and how to avoid becoming one, as well as exploring more philosophical questions: what are ghosts, why does the idea of them remain so powerful despite the lack of concrete evidence, and what do they tell us about being human?

Dr Finkel is a curator at the British Museum, in charge of cuneiform inscriptions on tablets of clay from ancient Mesopotamia, of which the Middle East Department has the largest collection – some 130,000 pieces – of any modern museum. He specializes in ancient Mesopotamian medicine and magic, and is also interested in literature, religion and the history of ideas. Finkel studies the history of board games, and is on the editorial board of Board Game Studies. Among his breakthrough works is the determination of the rules of the Royal Game of Ur. He is also the best-selling author of The Ark Before Noah, the theme of his talk at Origins 2014 in London. His most recent book is The First Ghosts: Most Ancient of Legacies. https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/term/BIOG132564

The Cosmic Origins of Karahan Tepe | Andrew Collins | Origins Conference 2023 | https://youtu.be/dr0DzrhtOmw

Andrew will be speaking at the Origins Conference on 2nd November 2024 in Wiltshire, UK: https://originsconference.co.uk and is also co-hosting this tour of Turkey in May 2025: www.megalithomania.co.uk/turkey.html.

Karahan Tepe is arguably the most important archaeological discovery the world has seen since Göbekli Tepe back in the mid 1990s. Even in the last month, a brand new enclosure, arguably the largest so far unearthed has been reported, within which was found a 2.3m tall statue, the earliest naturalistic full size human figure ever discovered. Next to it was found a stone vulture, and enormous T-pillars, two of them about 4.8m tall. What can we say about these remarkable new discoveries? How do they fit into what we know already about the cosmology and alignments already documented at Göbekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe? What also can we say about the enormous stone boar found in Göbekli Tepe’s Enclosure D? Why was it placed there, and what does it represent? Lastly, we ask who were the Taş Tepeler builders and is the giant human statue perhaps our first ever likeness of an Anunnaki? Andrew reveals all in this exclusive lecture.

Andrew B Collins is a science and history writer, and the author of books that challenge the way we perceive the past. They include From the Ashes of Angels, Gods of Eden, The Cygnus Mystery, Göbekli Tepe: Genesis of the Gods and most recently, The First Female Pharaoh: Sobekneferu, Goddess of the Seven Stars. Andrew is co-founder of the Origins Conference and is hosting tours to Turkey in May and September every year with Megalithomania. He lives in Essex. His website is www.andrewcollins.com

Hugh shares his research from southeast Anatolia, looking at Göbekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe, Sayburç and other sites in the Taş Tepeler region, exploring how they came into being and how geometric and astronomical principles found in British stone circles are also found at these sites, but nearly 7000 years earlier. Hugh also discusses his and JJ’s discovery of a winter solstice alignment at Karahan Tepe. Just how did they create and align these remarkable megalithic temples nearly 12,000 years ago? and why?

ANDREW COLLINS - From Karahan Tepe to Stonehenge: The Greatest Revelations, lecture + book launch at the Origins Conference on 2nd November 2024 at the Bouverie Hall in Pewsey, Wiltshire, UK + Live-Stream. https://originsconference.co.uk

One of the biggest revelations in archaeology In the last year was the realisation that Stonehenge's Altar Stone comes not from South Wales as had always been assumed, but northeastern Scotland. Thus it must have been carried 500 miles to Salisbury Plain by those who built Stonehenge. These were the enigmatic Grooved Ware people who originated in the Scottish Orkney Isles. Andrew reviews this entire subject, going also in search of Altar Stone 1's lost companion, Altar Stone Stone 2. Both stood next to each other as a pair during the earliest phases of construction at the site.

When standing the Stonehenge Altar Stones must have resembled the twin central monoliths at Tas Tepeler sites like Gobekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe. The comparison is striking begging the question of what relationship there might have been between these two highly advanced cultures separated in time by at least 5500 years.

The fact of the matter is that the Stonehenge landscape had already become a place of special interest to the post ice age inhabitants of Britain as early as 8500 BCE, paralleling the emergence at the same time of Tas Tepeler sites in southeastern Anatolia. Moreover, and as we see, going much further back in time there were even greater links between those who would eventually come to build Stonehenge and those responsible for the Tas Tepeler movement, which today constitutes the first acknowledged post ice age civilization in human history.

Andrew Collins is one of the world’s most renowned authorities on the world of Göbekli Tepe, being the first ancient mysteries writer to feature it in book form within his 2006 book The Cygnus Mystery. He has gained a strong reputation for reporting the facts correctly and in a manner accessible to a general audience. Andrew is also a lead proponent of the concept of a lost civilization and is also the codiscoverer, along with Egyptological researcher Nigel Skinner Simpson, of a huge cave complex located within the shadow of the Great Pyramid in Egypt and known today as Collins’s Cave. He co-founded the Origins Conference in 2013 and founded the Questing Conferencs in London. He currently lives near the Essex seaside town of Leigh-on-Sea, and his website is www.andrewcollins.com

ROBIN HEATH - Forgotten Legacy: Tracing the Prehistoric Origins of Cosmology, lecture at the Origins Conference on 2nd November 2024 at the Bouverie Hall in Pewsey, Wiltshire, UK + Live-Stream. https://originsconference.co.uk

Archaeologists have, for a long time, believed that there is no evidence showing that Neolithic cultures had any means of storing astronomical data, particularly chronological data such that the rhythms of the cosmos could be accumulated and studied over long time periods. Author and researcher Robin Heath introduces major new findings which demonstrate conclusively that this viewpoint is both unhelpful and erroneous, and will produce several outstanding examples which break through such that the 'Neolithic storage mechanism' can be identified and quantified. This work will enable researchers to set up a whole new methodology within the neglected subject of megalithic science, and thereby gain access into the minds of our distant ancestors.

For over thirty years Robin Heath has researched evidence for a prehistoric science embedded within the surviving megalithic monuments in Britain, Ireland and France. A leading UK field researcher on megalithic monuments, Robin is an independent researcher and a seasoned presenter. He has written and published nine books, co-authoring a further two, one with John Michell. Robin's books reveal verifiable evidence that a high cultural technology was built into the astronomical, geometrical and metrological qualities of many ancient monuments. He lives in coastal West Wales, where he and his wife Tricia keep an organic small-holding. www.robinheath.info

Punkrii Barwadih megalithic site is located near Hazaribagh in northeast India. https://youtu.be/_gScIv_O8Hs. It is one of the oldest sites of its kind in India dating to an estimated 3500 years ago, used by the tribal people of that time to observe the equinoxes and solstices aligning stones to hills and notches on the horizon. It includes cup-marks, a holed-stone and other unusual carvings, yet, like dozens of other sites in the area, is under threat from modern development. It has been investigated by Subhashis Das for over two decades and in this video I join him to explore the site in detail from a visit there in February 2024.

Astro-Mythology of Göbekli Tepe & the Earliest Creation Story | JJ Ainsworth | Origins Conference | https://youtu.be/FFkAh8oZGUM

JJ will be presenting at the Origins Conference on 2nd November 2024 in Wiltshire, UK. Ticket details here: https://originsconference.co.uk

The ancient people of the Taş Tepeler culture, specifically Göbekli Tepe, knew about the Golden Gate of the Ecliptic, and clearly showed it with the symbols they carved on the two central pillars of Enclosure D. The ancient peoples there used one of the oldest creation myths, far older than the Taş Tepeler sites, to tell the story of how the earth and its people came to be. This creation myth may have come down from the Russian steppe moving south after the last ice age, roughly 20,000 years ago. Philogenetics has scientifically proven that this myth is one of the oldest, one that the Göbekli Tepe people repeated year after year in their rituals.

JJ is a researcher and explorer from the US, who is an expert on ancient symbolism and connections between sites worldwide. She has featured on numerous TV shows and podcasts, has published articles on http://www.ancient-origins.net & http://grahamhancock.com and presented at conferences in the UK and US.
