Oxford 'Bridge Series' is here! And first up in this series is Bridge of Sighs (also known as Hertford Bridge) [Save for future trips]

𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩:
Hertford Bridge was built in 1913-14 is often referred to as the Bridge of Sighs due to its supposed similarity to the better known Bridge of Sighs in Venice

The bridge links together the Old and New Quadrangles of Hertford College (to the south and the north respectively), and much of its current architecture was designed by Sir Thomas Jackson

The building on the southern side of the bridge houses the college's administrative offices, whereas the northern building is mostly student accommodation

𝘿𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬?
In 2013, Hertford Bridge celebrated its centenary and to mark the occasion, the university installed a unique sound composition which was recorded by students and members of staff
