I’ve just booked the most incredible tour of China. Picture, walking the Great Wall, exploring the Terracotta Warriors, visiting a panda research center, all connected by first-class bullet trains. Then, boarding a 5-star luxury Yangtze River cruise before ending with a few nights in Shanghai, all with a private guide!

But that’s not all. From there, flights to Perth to visit family, followed by a trip to the Philippines, staying in a stunning hotel with a private pool in the perfect location to scuba dive and experience everything the Philippines has to offer.

First day of the conference done!

The highlight for me? Hearing Dame Irene Hayes share the story of Hays Travel’s early years and the growing trend of people choosing travel agents over online bookings.

Why? When things go wrong, flight delays, changes even a cancellation, will your online provider rebook your flights, find you a hotel, or offer reassurance without you having to spend hours on hold? No.
Will they check you in, liaise with hotels, or tailor your trip to your preferences? Definitely not.
Will they do any of this 24 hours a day, weekends and bank holidays…you guessed it.

On top of all that, too many people end up on disappointing holidays (the fundamental reason I became a travel consultant) and I’m on a mission to change that!
