Green Steps Forest and Beach School offers children and adults the opportunity to experience the outdoors in a fun and engaging way. We work in a variety of settings around Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire and are more than happy to bring the woods to your school grounds. Outdoor play and learning gives children engaging and memorable experiences while providing links to the curriculum. Being o

utside changes the dynamics of the group into a positive and coherent whole where we often find the students who struggle in a formal classroom setting are given a chance to excel. We offer the John Muir award for 8+ years as well as team building days for adults. John Muir Award
John Muir is an environmental award that is nationally recognised. It gives children the opportunity to reconnect with wild places in nature. Through Discover, Explore, Conserve and Share - a flexible and robust model of sharing nature, children deepen in their love and respect for their environment. We work alongside teachers dovetailing our outdoor sessions with indoor class time to link the John Muir award to the curriculum and complete the 40 hours needed for the award. Suitable from 8yrs +

Forest and Beach School

Our Forest and Beach school sessions are fun, engaging and educational. We provide a safe framework for children to discover the wonders of nature in their own way. We are happy to 'bring the woods to you' by working on your school grounds and adding a touch of magic to the playground. Or we can find a local woodland where the children can immerse themselves in nature. As Forest School leaders we are passionate about creating lasting memories of the outdoor experience that can inform and enhance their relationship to their natural world. Training and Coporate Days
We offer training in outdoor nature play for staff working with children and young adults. Our training is full of practical ideas, games and crafts that are easy to learn and are bespoke for your needs. We also provide written resources including risk assesments. We offer a half day training in making fire with children. "Thank you for the two workshop days, they were fun and informative and will help a lot. After a success two camps last summer we've upped our game and are running four this year! We've two for women, one for young women (16-18) and one mixed. We have the greenwood team and our fantastic cooks lined up. Hope to see you in the summer!
