So we’ve just returned from an amazing trip to NYC!

We flew Heathrow to Newark with British Airways and stayed at the Motto by Hilton New York City Chelsea

We chose Newark over JFK as it was closer and easier to get to the hotel with easy access to the NJ transit train which we decided to take for a more authentic experience. It cost $108 dollars for 4 of us return and took us on the air train from the airport to Newark Airport station then to New York Penn station. This took around 40 mins total and then it was a ten minute walk to our hotel.

We picked this hotel for two reasons, it seemed central and in a quieter area and had 4 separate beds. We have a 16 and 9 year old who do not want to share a bed, nor did we want to share with them 🤣

The hotel was beautiful, modern and clean. The rooms were perfect and the beds the most comfortable I’ve ever had in a hotel. They were spacious and came with their own light and charging points, perfect for chilling out for half an hour before bed and charging everyone’s devices.

The room had a small fridge to store the bottles of water we were given each day as part of the resort fee we paid. This is standard in New York and is paid on arrival at the hotel. It was $30 per night plus tax and it also gave us $10 per day to spend at the bar or restaurant. We used this to grab a coffee in a morning.

The staff were so friendly and helpful and the hotel was peaceful for New York! We would definitely recommend this hotel for those with a family of older kids, the bunks were high and not recommended for under 6years.

We had a perfect start to our holiday.
