Our final spotlight for national park week is Theodore Roosevelt National Park. 🏞️


Set in the colourful canyons of the western North Dakota Badlands, Theodore Roosevelt National Park deserves to be on your travel list! Without the crowds and waiting lines common to some parks, it’s easy to discover a sense of freedom at Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Park trails and drives take you to scenic vistas with stunning views of the Painted Canyon and the Little Missouri River, a petrified forest and open range populated by bison, horses, elk, prairie dogs, and other wildlife.
Visit all three units. The South Unit, the North Unit and the Elkhorn Ranch Unit which was the site of Roosevelt's North Dakota home where he lived and ranched.

Our next national park to be spotlighted is Badlands National Park in South Dakota! 🏞️


The rugged beauty of the Badlands draws visitors from around the world. These striking geologic deposits contain one of the world’s richest fossil beds. The park’s 244,000 acres protect an expanse of mixed-grass prairie where bison, bighorn sheep, prairie dogs, and black-footed ferrets live today and can often be seen while hiking, camping and traveling the Badlands Loop Scenic Byway.

The United Tribes Technical College International Powwow is held every September in Bismarck, North Dakota. It’s a contest powwow, where dancers and singers compete for prize money.
