We especially liked these comments posted today by a departing guest-
"I stayed at The Owl House with my two daughters for a long weekend and it was our first time there. The cottage was lovely. It was very clean and well equipped with a beautiful nature enhancing garden. We were visited by rabbits and two deer that came up to our patio windows and bats in the evening. The owls in the owl box kept up transfixed watching them and it was such an honour that the first hatching happened during our stay. We didn’t watch anything else on the televisions in each of the rooms during our time there. We enjoyed the proximity to Bempton Cliffs for the birds, deer and hares and Flamborough for the multiple seals. The owners were very friendly and available by phone if needed. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Owl House and will certainly be visiting again."

Well, we've had some pretty unusual weather for April and May, but the plus side of threatening skies is that they can create some fantastic photo opportunities We love this shot taken by Marcin at Studios.

Spotting Puffins at Bempton Cliffs

Now is the time to watch the puffins nesting on the Yorkshire Coast
The puffins begin to arrive in numbers in early April and soon afterwards, to the joy of visitors to our coast, their nesting sites are well established and plainly visible from the viewing platforms and the clifftops at RSPB Bempton.

Easter springtime York and East Yorkshire
Easter springtime is full of the promise of longer days, warming weather, chocolate eggs and time off work and school. March this year heralds the beginning of the school Easter holidays with Good Friday on 29th March, Easter Sunday on the 31st and Easter Monday just dipping into April on the first of the month.

🌿We had such a lovely time at The Highfield House yesterday enjoying a delicious afternoon tea! The food was locally sourced and some of Yorkshire’s finest - a real treat! A 10/10 from us and we highly recommend.🌿

North Yorkshire Water Park
We had a drive out here on Saturday. Its developed a lot more since we last came. If you don't want to get wet it's great to walk round and the cafe looks good too.
