TIPS FOR A SAFE AND HEALTHY HOLIDAY.
As a lot of people are about to embark on their summer holidays to warmer climates abroad I thought now would be a good time to remind people of some useful tips to help you and the other members in your group enjoy your holiday and avoid possible pitfalls. This advice has been taken from the ABTA website.

Before you travel
1)Read the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) travel advice for the country you are visiting www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice.
2)Take out travel insurance and make sure it covers all activities you will be doing.

Preparing for travel
1)Speak to your GP or a travel clinic to see if you need any vaccinations.
Check the luggage policy of your airline, especially weight limits and items you’re not allowed to take away with you.
2)If you’re on medication take a supply in your hand luggage and before travel check if there are restrictions in your destination on what you can take.
3)Take a digital copy of the ID pages of your passport in case you need to get a replacement.

Security
1) Keep accommodation doors locked even when you are inside the room.
2) Use the safe for your money and other valuables.
3) If you are caught up in a security incident follow the guidance to ‘Run, Hide, Tell’.

Be aware and be safe
1)Never leave children unsupervised.
2) Keep all furniture away from the balcony wall/railings. Never climb or stand on balcony furniture.
3) Drink bottled water and don’t put ice in drinks.
4) Check warnings on beaches and never swim where it is not permitted.
5) Apply high-factor sunscreen frequently and drink plenty of water.
6) Take extra care with babies and children in the sun.
7) Use insect repellent in mosquito prone areas.

Out and about
1) Always book any excursion through a reputable supplier recommended by your travel company or the tourist office and make sure your holiday insurance covers what you’re doing.
2) Be careful, in some countries traffic isn’t required to stop at pedestrian crossings.
3) We strongly advise that you don’t hire mopeds, motorbikes or quad bikes.
4) Stay with your group, keep your drink with you at all times, or nominate a friend to watch your drinks.
5) Don’t take recreational drugs - they are almost certainly illegal and could lead to a substantial prison sentence.
6) Only use licensed taxis and never accept a lift from a stranger.

VIRGIN ATLANTIC RETURNS TO LAS VEGAS FROM MANCHESTER.

As reported in today's Travel Weekly Virgin Atlantic resumed flights between Manchester and Las Vegas on Sunday after the route was paused during the pandemic.

The service complements the airline’s existing daily connection to Las Vegas from Heathrow.

The route builds on established services to Orlando, New York, and Atlanta from Manchester in addition to winter seasonal flights to Barbados.

It is also the only US west coast flight available from the northwest and is operating three times a week during the summer on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Virgin Atlantic is deploying a three-cabin Airbus A350-1000 on the route.

Manchester airport chief executive Chris Woodroofe said: “We’re proud to serve the North with an ever-growing route network of more than 200 destinations. Adding Las Vegas with Virgin Atlantic to that list is really exciting.

“It also makes Manchester the only English airport outside London to offer direct flights to America’s west coast, opening up a host of travel opportunities including the bright lights and nightlife of Las Vegas itself, the spectacular scenery of National Parks like Yosemite and the Grand Canyon as well the Pacific coast, the fascinating cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles and much, much more.”

Just had a go on the Shandrani Beachcomber Golf & Spa resort 9 hole pitch and putt. Lovely course and the views of the ocean as you went around were out of this world 🌎. I cant get over the colour of the sea.This chairs message says it all.

So yesterday we visited the 4*Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa. This resort is set amidst lush tropical gardens, beside a white sandy beach and all the spacious rooms look out towards the Ocean. The views are to die for.

So we left 5* Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa today having spent the last two nights there. Just a stunning Resort. The food and service was first class. Last night we went into the local town Grand Baie after a meal in the Resorts Indian Restaurant to sample the night life. Went to the Banana club. The club was packed and it had a great vibe.

So today we moved on from the 5* Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort and Spa. What a fantastic Resort. Amazing food and service. Last night after a meal at the Resorts Indian Restaurant some of us headed onto the Banana club in Grand Baie to sample the local night life. What a fantastic night we had. Last evening we had a look round at the 4* Victoria Beachcomber Resort and Spa. Another amazing Resort and some great value All Inclusive deals for families for this Resort compared to the Caribbean or even Europe. Every place we have visited has provided superb food. For the 2nd time we had our buffet on the beach. Amazing setting with great people.

So this afternoon we visited Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa. Another stunning Resort in an amazing location. I think what has struck us as Travel Consultants is although the hotels are 95% full you feel walking around that you are the only ones there. So peaceful. And the scenery is out of this world 🌎. The back drop to the hotel and the golf course is jaw dropping.
And when you think alot of your activities are included in the price the Beachcomber product is very good value.
This evening we had an evening meal on the Beach at Dinarobin and the food was amazing. So tasty. We've been treat like Royalty today.

NEW GATWICK-CAPE TOWN SERVICES FROM NORSE.
Gatwick will once again offer a route to Cape Town next winter when Norse Atlantic Airways begins flying. Norse will offer three flights a week(Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays) from 28th October

DIRECT CUBA FLIGHTS ARE BACK
Non-stop flights to Cuba will restart in May from Gatwick and Manchester. Both flights will operate to beach destinations, with a weekly service from Gatwick to Cayo Coco on Sundays from 5th May, and a Manchester flight to Holguin on Fridays from 10th May.

AER LINGUS INCREASES FESTIVE FLIGHTS TO ORLANDO
Aer Lingus will put on extra flights to Orlando from Manchester over the Christmas and new year period going from a three times weekly service to four times weekly from the 18th December 2024 to 8th January 2025, including a Christmas Day flight.

10 REASONS TO VISIT AUSTRALIA.
When most people think of Australia, they probably think of kangaroos and the Great Barrier Reef. That's all fine and well, but really the first thing that you need to know is that Australia is incredibly diverse and pretty huge.

1. Marvel at Australia's Sydney Opera House
