A huge thank you to Rolande Burrows for this lovely testimonial 🥰
👋🏻 ✍🏻😁Do you feel you need some kind of accountability to finish your memoir? I’m sure you do! And tonight, Marnie’s Memoir Mission has begun!
⭐️Action
⭐️ Accountability
⭐️ Accomplishment!
We started tonight with our first co-writing session. Sounds like something you and your writing needs? Read on…
This is like a gym membership for your memoir. You pay a monthly fee and we start by creating your Personalised Writing Plan - hurrah! You and I meet over Zoom, or in person if you’re local, to talk about where you’re at, where you want to get to, what barriers you face and what helps your writing. We look at your average week or fortnight and where writing fits in, where more can be fit in if required, and if necessary what needs to go/be sacrificed (!) to take time for your writing. We also habit stack - thanks @jamesclear. Remember, you can’t make time, but you can take it! Then armed with your plan and knowing when you are going to write each week, and a word count goal of you fancy, you crack on, coming to the MMM online forum anytime where you’ll find me and the other writers ready to chat, encourage, celebrate, console and answer questions. Crucially, I’ll know everyone’s plan and will be checking in to see how you’re getting on and helping you with any problems arising. You can book one-to-ones to me as needed and twice a month we have online co-writing sessions! The program is currently full, but I’ll be opening to five more memoirists in January. Link in bio to read more, or save your spot for January or message me to chat. Marnie’s Memoir Mission - Action - Accountability - Accomplishment. Let’s get these stories written ⭐️✍🏻👏🏻✍🏻⭐️
The transformation-in-memoir chat continues! This time as it relates to people we’re writing about who have wronged us in some way. Would love to read your thoughts on this topic! Did you experience a calming of the inner storm as a result of writing about someone?
Congratulations to my gorgeous, prolific, creative, passionate and dedicated husband @dyf.edwards on the launch of his 12th (or maybe more, he’s lost count!) Welsh language book. Thanks to @llyfrau_bwthyn for a fab launch with lots of cheese! 🧀And for the translation service - much appreciated. Lovely to make it a double launch with Sonia Edwards, no relation 😁 and for her fab son @fleurdelysband to play too. Great eve celebrating Dyfed’s achievement with the Welshies we love ❤️ #carudarllen
The transformation chat continues! Memoirs are often about transformation - how life has transformed us - yes. But the process of writing memoir can be transformative too. We may not write the book we set out to write. Something else entirely may emerge from all that ferreting about in the past. We need to be gentle with ourselves and go with it, to see what transpires. It may well be a gift to us and our potential readers ❤️
TRANSFORMATION! It’s what memoir is all about - how something in life changed us. But the process of writing memoir is also transformational ❤️
Feeling very grateful for an evening spent with the fabulous women memoirists who are participants in my year long memoir writing course ❤️🥰❤️
It’s been so uplifting and enriching. We were supposed to be talking about voice in memoir, and we did, but we went off topic too, with the women sharing a lot of what’s going on for them in their lives as well as in their writing.
This is how I hoped it would go on this, the first year of my year long course - I wanted to create a community - for these women to be able to support, encourage, guide and motivate each other. We all need a writing tribe! And they are soooooo supportive of each other, which is just totally heartwarming to witness 🥰
I so enjoy the company of these courageous women who aren’t afraid to share their vulnerabilities and fears but who also want to lift each other up!
It’s so wonderful to see a community you’re building coming together.
It’s also wonderful to hear how the course is helping them, how they’re feeling more confident as memoirists and how much they, like me, enjoyed these evening.
I never mind going off on a tangent, I’ll just type up my script for tonight and send it over to them to digest at their leisure - tonight was about spontaneous conversation and connection. And that is always precious ❤️
In the video, I forgot July. We meet monthly and started in Feb, finishing next March as the year long course is over 14 months as we take a summer and Christmas break. I have some spots available for the February 2025 course. DM me for a link to details, or visit my website. The year long course button can be found on the front page 😁

Thank you @dmrsearch for this lovely testimonial! It was truly inspiring to work with you on your memoir. It took time, didn’t it 😁 (the best ones do 😉). But I am thrilled that you feel I helped you to write the best memoir possible. I agree! Well done and thank you for having me stay at your beautiful home @wilcox_manor for the launch! See you and Penelope soon. Looking forward to your other author events. London 2025?! Bring it on! 📖❤️🇺🇸👏🏻✍🏻
The launch of @dmrsearch ‘s memoir Hotel Goodbyes will live in my memory forever. It was a beautiful day in #SanJose, #California, in the incredible surroundings of Stephen and Penelope’s sanctuary of a home, with Stephen’s nearest and dearest in attendance. There was so much joy. And so much love for Stephen. His story of overcoming being abandoned by his mum after years of neglect and abuse, before going on to be taken into care as a ward of the state of #Nevada, and then going on to build an extraordinary life for himself is nothing short of incredible. It took him a long to write and he had to dig deep, with a bit of memoir midwifing from me. It genuinely was a gift to be involved in this book and I hope it flies high. Stephen wrote it for his sons, for Penelope, for his siblings, and for his friends - his community. And he wrote it in the hope that it will help, “just one person”. It will, Stephen, you can be sure of that. You are courageous and generous and full of light, and you deserve it all ❤️
