'Leaf Peeping' is hugely popular in Canada and America. It is all about strolling through autumn woodland and admiring the foliage as it turns from summer greens to the yellows, reds and golds of autumn.
With over 20 million trees spread across 200 square miles, the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean is the perfect destination to give 'Leaf Peeing' a try.
Morf Designs worked with The Forest of Dean & Wye Valley Tourism Association to design a new 'Leaf Peeping' logo and trail leaflet.

We have just completed a project for the pilot 'Innovation Lab' in Gloucestershire.
The Innovation Labs are designed to be friendly public spaces to inspire creativity among young people; where visitors can design, create and explore and businesses and individuals can test ideas and learn new skills.
In keeping with this theme we designed a series of information panels, signs and window graphics to work with and strengthen the Innovation Lab branding.
Working closely with Public Health Wales, we designed and printed the 'Smoke Free Maternity Service Manual'.
The purpose of the project is to assist Maternity Support Workers in delivering intensive behavioural support and a smoking cessation service for pregnant smokers.
The manual is a 130 page document. The information pages are enclosed in a hard-back ring binder and are printed on heavy, high quality stock to maximise durability.
The text supplied was broken down into clean, concise pages. Each section was colour-coded for easy reference. The use of simple tables, charts and diagrams makes the information easy to reference and provides a user-friendly, working tool.
The colour scheme and fonts work in-line with the Smoking Cessation Campaign branding.
The Spring/Summer 2019 Kayes/Mattel Product Guide.
The project included content management, data input, digital enhancement of product images, design layout and print management. The end result is a high quality catalogue, showcasing hundreds of new products.
The printed 2019 Forest of Dean & Wye Valley Visitor Guides are already proving popular.

We have just finished the design, layout and print management of their 2019-2020 Product Guide, showcasing their extensive range in this 148 page, high quality publication.
Mapping Our Heritage Project
The aim of the 'Mapping Our Heritage' project was to create a dynamic map of the area that helped highlight the vast array of highly important social, rural and cultural heritage sites that can be found within the counties of Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent. This includes historically important buildings, archaeological sites, places associated with social history and folklore etc. A map that would work as a valuable resource for both educational purposes and as a guide for locals and tourists to the area.
The project has been developed under the Cwm a Mynydd Rural Development Programme that covers Caerphilly CBC and a small portion of Blaenau Gwent.

This annual festival celebrates the area's fantastic history and culture. It's a chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences.

The Monoliths
As part of a drive to create a more distinctive identity for the estates of Northville and Southville we were commissioned to design the artwork to feature on four gateway monoliths.
The brief was to create two designs which celebrate the history of the estates as housing built for the engineering industries around which the New Town of Cwmbran was originally developed, as well as the natural landscape of woods and fields which it replaced. The stainless and weathered steel structures have been laser cut and engraved on one side with patterns representing products manufactured by the neighbouring factories of Meritor (formerly Lucas-Girlings) and Crane’s (Saunders). The opposing side characterises the oak woodland and flowery meadows that once existed here and includes the Cwmbran ‘crow’ or ‘raven’. The new tree planting compliments the Grow Wild Community Champions wildflower planting across the estates which will bring colour as well as more birds, bees and butterflies back into the estates.
The rise of the Infographic
Infographics are gaining in popularity as they are perfect for making information easily understandable at a glance. Publications are embracing the medium to better engage readers. They form a large part of the work Morf Designs creates for the NHS.

Here in South Wales, we are very proud of our industrial heritage. During the Industrial Revolution, this little corner of the world went global!. A landscape of roughly 25 miles long and 70 miles wide played host to: the biggest iron and copper works in the world; the first true train journey; the largest lump of coal; and technological advances that shaped the modern world.
But the real power behind our industrial story was the people. From canny incomers who took a risk on setting up industries in a virgin land and on a scale never seen before to brilliant minds whose inventions helped shape our modern world to social reformers who sometimes made the ultimate sacrifice in their struggle to make life better for ordinary working people.

NHS Wales wanted a pictographic leaflet, to explain how to use the different health services.
The target audience was people with limited English and those with difficulty reading.
Simple illustrations were drawn to portray the correct services to use, for different situations.
The project has already been a huge success.
