Happy New Year one and all - here's to 2025 and another twelve months of education and entertainment - from dramatic masterclasses to elves off the shelf!
As it's Throwback Thursday we thought we'd share a brief snapshot of 2024 whilst taking the opportunity of thanking all our followers, clients and collaborators especially those who have been so understanding and patient over latter months whilst Rob Pudner has had to juggle his professional engagements/commitments (sometimes at very short notice) to allow him to spend time with his eldest Son at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Charity.
Huge appreciation to our good friends Kate from Magical Guests Character And Mascot Hire Devon & Cornwall and Mark from Queenie and the Jester for holding the Entertainingly Different reins and taking the pressure off at times of need and Unique Sweets & Treats,Nanstallon Community Primary School, The Northam Care Trust and SNAP - Inclusive Performing Arts Club for being so supportive at what has been an extremely challenging time.
If you're currently planning an event be sure to contact us for a no obligation discussion about our services and how we may be able to assist in our inimitable style.

Yesterday may have been the shortest day but an appropriately attired Rob Pudner still managed to fit in two festive engagements - the day started with a seasonal and equally snowy session for Dawlish Children's Special Needs Group - AIMS. and ended with an interactive family friendly show at The Manor & Ashbury Resorts.
Rob is now taking a much needed break until 2025 and whilst he prepares to travel back to London where his eldest son remains on intensive care at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Charity we'd like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very merry Christmas and thank Magical Guests Character And Mascot Hire Devon & Cornwall and Queenie and the Jester for holding the Entertainingly Different reins whilst he's away in the capital.

As Rob Pudner prepares for his last two Entertainingly Different engagements of 2024 here's a look back at the past few days of seasonal shenanigans.
On Wednesday Rob paid his regular visit to Nanstallon Community Primary School near Bodmin where he expressed his elf and as well as providing some interactive fun and snow for the whole school he also enjoyed a spot of Christmas lunch. Thursday was a much busier day all round when festive favourite Charlie Elf paid a visit to Beer Primary School followed by two Hadley Care sites on the other side of Devon (Strawberry Fields and Fremington Lodges). He finished the day in the company of his fellow elves at SNAP - Inclusive Performing Arts Club.
Yesterday he was back in North Devon bringing a hearty dose of Christmas cheer to the residents and staff at three more Hadley Care sites (Landkey, Yelland and Bideford).

After spending another week in London where his eldest son remains stable following yet another procedure Rob Pudner returned to Devon at the weekend to spend the last week of term looking after his other son and fulfil some of his prior festive engagements.
On Saturday afternoon he provided some Entertainingly Different antics for the Inwardleigh and Folly Gate Fundraising Committee which were enjoyed by young and old alike. On Sunday he had the pleasure of acting as MC for one of the many fabulous events being held in Barnstaple Pannier Market on the run up to Christmas where he introduced some very talented performers and met lots of lovely people including Stemgineering with Nick and just yesterday morning there was plenty of seasonal silliness when the ever popular Charlie Elf paid a visit to Rose Hill (The Northam Care Trust).

There is nothing like a dame - it's Panto Day 2024 and we just couldn't resist sharing this photograph from the vaults which was taken on the 12th December 2012 when Rob Pudner stepped in to understudy one of the cast during an Entertainingly Different Youth Theatre rehearsal (or so he says anyway!)
📷 What's the funniest picture of Rob you have snapped over the years? Perhaps you could post it in the comments below.

As we opened the fifth door on our advent calendar we realised it's been over a fortnight since we last posted and seeing as it's Throwback Thursday we thought we'd take this opportunity to update you on what Rob Pudner has been up to since he last returned from London.
At the beginning of last week he has the pleasure of facilitating an audition workshop and rehearsal at Exeter College in preparation for a private event which takes place this weekend. He also paid an Entertainingly Different visits to Rose Hill (The Northam Care Trust), Nanstallon Community Primary School near Bodmin and SNAP - Inclusive Performing Arts Club.
On Friday he was delighted to be back playing the part of Shopkeeper at Unique Sweets & Treats where he bumped into Penny Plonk (Promenade Promotions) who was providing street entertainment for late night shopping He was back in Crediton on Saturday where he had been invited to provide some interactive entertainment and act as MC for the town's main Christmas event organised by Crediton Town Council abd sponsored by Crediton Dairy - see the artic coffee. There was no time to change as Rob took to the microphone again that evening for Carols in the Barn where he was joined by Marion - Music and saw Father Christmas for the second time that day. There was no rest for the wicked or should we say the cheeky as on Sunday he attached his pointy ears for an afternoon of merriment and festive fun as part of Dulverton By Starlight. On Monday evening he was back in Exeter College's Centre for Creative Industries and yesterday following a seasonal session at Rose Hill a suitably attired Rob was joined by one half of Queenie and the Jester for some walkabout entertainment in Tiverton Town Centre.

Whilst Rob Pudner makes his way back to London where is eldest son has another scheduled procedure at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Charity here's how he's kept himself grounded for the past couple of days.
On Monday he paid a rearranged Entertainingly Different visit to Nanstallon Community Primary School near Bodmin where he enjoyed some piratical antics with years one to three and today for the first time since 2017 he visited St Helen's School in Abbotsham where he facilitated dramatic workshops with both the year ones and the year threes focussed around their current books.

It was late night shopping in Crediton yesterday and during his usual Friday shop cover Rob Pudner made sure the window of Unique Sweets & Treats was appropriately dressed for the occasion as well as the festive weeks to follow.
In association with Crediton Town Council Entertainingly Different engaged the fantastic services of family entertainer Damian Patton* who Rob was delighted to finally meet in person and be able to introduce Dave to Oscar the Orangutan. He also had the pleasure of meeting Lottie the Bubble Pixie who granted him a Christmas wish which seemed particularly poignant this year and much appreciated.
*Damian will be back on the streets of Crediton next Friday between 5.30pm and 7.30pm and Rob has been invited to provide some interactive antics for Christmas in Crediton which takes place from 1.00pm on the eve of Advent.

'Come and Hug Me' - if you've never read this beautiful book by Michal Snunit then you really should. Rob Pudner took great pleasure in sharing it with both clients and staff during this afternoon's Entertainingly Different visit to Rose Hill (The Northam Care Trust).
The welcome he was given today was as always like a big warm hug and today that was most definitely needed.

"Oggy Oggy Oggy" On Saturday night within an hour of stepping off the train from London Rob Pudner was all set to provide some Entertainingly Different antics at this year's Hatherleigh Carnival and he was delighted to be joined by Queenie and the Jester's Mark Roberts who helped provide some street entertainment ahead of the procession.
For the first time since his involvement with the carnival began Rob was given the job of riding on the last appeal trailer giving the thanks over the microphone on behalf of the committee and generally working the crowd in his inimitable style whilst dodging flying coins as he traversed the town.
📷 Thanks to Cindy Squire and Donna Lewis for a couple of the photos featured here - if you have any pics or videos please share in the comments below as we'd love to see them.

There are many highlights in the Entertainingly Different calendar every year and The BIG Sheep Family Attraction Bonfire and Firework Spectacular is most certainly up there with the best of them.
Last night Entertainingly Different on Fire's Maz, Joe and Eliza performed three crowd pleasing shows in the indoor arena before a spot of jamming ahead of the fireworks.
Our very own suitably attired Rob Pudner took to the main stage as MC for the evening whilst his youngest son Jasper enjoyed joining him for a spot of dancing - making it a 5th of November to remember!

The show must go on. . . .
Mr Bones made his one and only 2024 appearance last night and with that the spooky season came to an end with the final four Entertainingly Different engagements of the Autumn half term taking place between Tuesday and Saturday- two interactive family friendly shows at both Clawford Lakes and The Manor & Ashbury Resorts. Rob Pudner is pictured here with his special guest vocalist Marion - Music and his trusty little assistant - Jasper Pudner.

On Sunday following his third Entertainingly Different gig of the day, Rob Pudner drove on to Reading where he slept in his car overnight in preparation to catch an early morning train to London to surprise his eldest boy at Great Ormond Street Hospital where after a brisk walk from Paddington Station he spent the day holding him so very close - filling him until he overflowed with love, warmth, care and protection.
NB.The first photograph was taken later in the day on request of Tobias who was rather taken with his Daddy's new shirt (Thank you Donalds Menswear) and although we don't make a habit of sharing these sort of pictures we know there are many of our followers who would like to see - especially those who left such kind comments and well wishes on a previous post.

Stars on Sunday - it was a three show kind of day yesterday; thank goodness for the extra hour although there still wasn't quite enough time for Rob Pudner to change between his Entertainingly Different gigs!
The day started with a visit to The Staddy in Plymstock near Plymouth before a sun drenched drive to Knowle near Budleigh Salterton. Then after even more driving he rounded off the day with some family friendly fun The Beachcomber, Brean where he quite literally bumped into 'The nicest pirate ever to sail the sea' - Captain Comber.

Whilst the spooky season continues to creep towards it's climax Rob Pudner dusted off some appropriate attire for the past few days of Entertainingly Different engagements.
On Wednesday afternoon he gave the staff and clients a scare at Rose Hill (The Northam Care Trust) and on Thursday evening there was a definite Halloween flavour to the SNAP - Inclusive Performing Arts Club session. There were more treats than tricks on Friday when Rob took the floor at Unique Sweets & Treats in Crediton where he had great fun as usual and he even got to decorate the shop window. He finished the day with some interactive antics at Stowford Farm Meadows. Last night he performed to a great crowd at The Manor & Ashbury Resorts and had the pleasure of warming the Dartmoor Rooms ahead of the rather brilliant Comedian and Juggler - Goronwy.

Sometimes being self-employed and running a successful business can be quite the juggling act when it comes to balancing one's personal and family life/commitments with professional engagements; so you can probably imagine there are occasions when the only option is to combine the two.
Whilst Rob Pudner's eldest boy takes a little longer than expected to recover from major surgery in Great Ormond Street Hospital, London his youngest has started joining him for some of his Entertainingly Different bookings; one of which took place at The Manor & Ashbury Resorts yesterday evening. Jasper aged nine was more than happy to have a later bedtime and join his Daddy on the stage at various points thoughtout the interactive show and he certainly enjoyed whetting his whistle at the end of the night!
