Rob Pudner is a freelance performance arts practitioner and Youth Theatre Director based in Okehampton. He has been educating, inspiring, enthusing and entertaining the young and old alike for over 25 years across the county and beyond. He is an artist in demand and the passion for his craft is infectious. He has directed over 30 Youth/Community Theatre productions and many school performances and
has facilitated countless workshops in a variety of locations. Rob has extensive experience of working with early years and has more recently facilitated a movement programme for pre-school children for Dance in Devon. As well as his workshops with young people he also facilitates INSET sessions for teachers, provides 1:1 intervention and support, has led a number of ECAT workshops and Family SEAL sessions across the County, works with young people with Autism, presents his own arts based radio show and when he has the time likes to step into the spotlight himself. Rob, trades under the name 'Entertainingly Different' and his workshops and sessions are certainly that, so be prepared to laugh, smile and have some fun!
Today started with a rather super visit to Dawlish Children's Special Needs Group - AIMS. and then following a quick change in the true spirit of being a superheroe ended with some Entertainingly Different antics and family friendly fun at a slightly soggy Ide Revel.

It's Throwback Thursday so we thought we'd take this opportunity to share some preciously unseen photographs from this year's Beautiful Days Festival where Entertainingly Different once again took the Theatre Tent by storm where Rob Pudner was not only joined on stage by the lovely Sophie Tea Creative Arts for Rise N' Shine each morning and a festival finale on the Sunday evening but also the very clever Ruth MacLaren from Devon Science • STEM edutainment for sixty minutes of scientific shenanigans on the Friday afternoon.

Well that's a wrap - with September underway and the new academic year just about to begin here's a look back at last week's Entertainingly Different antcs.
It was certainly a quieter week then some but busy enough for Rob Pudner who was glad to be winding down a little whilst fulfilling the last of his Summer engagements.
Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday saw family friendly fun at Clawford Lakes where Rob is also currently enjoying a mini break with his boys.
On Tuesday evening he paid his penultimate visit to the The Manor & Ashbury Resorts where he had the pleasure of being joined by special guest Russell Jones Jr.
On Thursday he paid his regular fortnightly visit to Rose Hill (The Northam Care Trust) where clients and staff alike enjoyed his outdoor session. Saturday saw the last two interactive performances on the Sunflower Stage Camel Creek Family Adventure Park near Wadebridge before a final visit to The Manor Hotel for some scientific shenanigans and silliness with Ruth MacLaren from Devon Science • STEM edutainment.

It's the Bank Holiday weekend and believe it or not Rob Pudner now finds himself with two whole days off - so whilst he takes a break from his Entertainingly Different antics here's a look at what's kept him busy this past week.
On Tuesday he joined forces with Classical Crossover Singer Tamsin Ball in the guise of Elsa and Ariel for performances at both Childrens week Torbay and The Manor & Ashbury Resorts. On Wednesday he paid an early evening visit to Hengar Manor Holiday Park, Cornwall and on Thursday he was back on Paignton Green where he dodged the showers to not only provide two sets of interactive entertainment and lead the ice cream conga but also act as one of the judges for the fancy dress competition.
On Friday night he paid a final visit to The Beachcomber, Brean and the order of the day on Saturday were two interactive shows in the Sunflower Stage at Camel Creek Family Adventure Park followed by some family fun at the Manor and Ashbury Resorts with thanks to Magical Guests Character And Mascot Hire Devon & Cornwall.

As Rob Pudner lies down in a darkened room in preparation for another busy week of Entertainingly Different antics (which includes two days at Childrens week Torbay and performances at both Camel Creek Family Adventure Park and The Beachcomber, Brean) let's take this opportunity to look back at the past seven days.
On Monday he donned his Jester's apparel and played the fool at Marhamchurch Revel. On Tuesday he entertained guests at Clawford Lakes before heading to The Manor & Ashbury Resorts where he had the pleasure of being joined by Marion - Music. Thursday saw plenty of fun in the sun and puppet play at The Northam Care Trust (Rose Hill) before entertaining residents and their families at Newlands (Hadley Care) Summer party. The fun continued at Stowford Farm Meadows which was Rob's final engagement of the day. Friday saw family friendly fun in the Theatre Tent at Beautiful Days Festival where he was joined by the fabulous Sophie Tea Creative Arts to kick-start the morning with Rise N' Shine which was shortly followed by some scientific shenanigans with Ruth MacLaren from Devon Science • STEM edutainment. Saturday was yet another three gig day with performances and entertainment at Beautiful Days Festival, Ashwater Agricultural Show and The Manor Hotel. Finally Sunday saw Rob and Sophie top and tail the third and final day of performances in the Theatre Tent at Beautiful Days Festival.

It's Monday morning and as Rob Pudner prepares for an afternoon of Entertainingly Different antics at Marhamchurch Revel here's a look back at another week of Summer shenanigans.
Last Tuesday Rob paid a visit to Great Torrington Bluecoat C of E Primary School where he provided a couple hours of holiday club activities including parachute games and drama activities before heading to Clawford Lakes to provide a spot of family entertainment. The final engagement of the day took place at The Manor & Ashbury Resorts where he had the pleasure of being joined by Classical Crossover Singer Tamsin Ball.
Thursday saw a last minute early evening visit to Pentewan Sands Holiday Park before racing back to Bodmin College where he had a great time working with Bodmin and District Horizon Club. Friday saw just a visit to Clawford Lakes at the start of a particularly busy weekend.
On both Saturday and Sunday morning he had the pleasure of saying Rise N' Shine at the 2024 Dartmoor Folk Festival. On Saturday afternoon whilst he left the South Zeal proceedings in the capable hands of Queenie and the Jester and Promenade Promotions he headed to Exmouth Rugby Club for Party on the Exe before teaming up Ruth MacLaren from Devon Science • STEM edutainment at the Manor and Ashbury Resorts.
Finally Sunday saw more family fun on Dartmoor including a spot in the main arena before acting as MC for the Duck Race in his inimitable style.

On Wednesday he facilitated a physical comedy workshop as part of Broadclyst Theatre Group Summer Youth Project before some fun in the sun at Rose Hill (The Northam Care Trust). Friday evening saw an hour of family friendly interactive entertainment at The Beachcomber, Brean and Saturday evening saw another visit to the Manor and Ashbury Resorts this time for some scientific shenanigans with Ruth MacLaren from Devon Science • STEM edutainment..
Finally today he teamed up with one half of Queenie and the Jester - Mark Roberts and manned a circus skills area at Somerset County Cricket Club's Family Day in Taunton.
Don't forget next weekend will see plenty of family friendly fun at the Dartmoor Folk Festival - South Zeal with the ever popular Rise N 'Shine with Rob P each morning and interactive entertainment on the main field each afternoon including circus skills, bubbles, Punch & Judy shows, seaside games and face painting/hair braiding/glitter tattoos. Good morning everyone - as promised here's you're weekly roundup from the world of Entertainingly Different.
Wednesday saw an afternoon performance in the ballroom at Woolacombe Bay Hotel and Thursday saw another trip to North Devon where Rob Pudner provided some interactive entertainment for Happy Hares Nursery and Pre-School Graduation Party in Barnstaple.
On Friday evening Rob ventured to Somerset for an hour of family friendly fun at The Beachcomber, Brean which just leaves yesterday which stared with an early morning fifth birthday party in Fremington where Rob had a helping hand from Magical Guests Character And Mascot Hire Devon & Cornwall. Rob then paid his first ever visit to Camel Creek Family Adventure Park near Wadebridge where he was performed twice throughout the afternoon as the headline act on the Sunflower Stage. The day finished with a visit to the The Manor & Ashbury Resorts where he hosted a Summer Party alongside some very recognisable characters courtesy of Magical Guests.

Last night Rob Pudner paid an Entertainingly Different visit to Stowford Farm Meadows where he provided an hour of interactive family entertainment to a lively crowd of all ages in The Olde Barn Bar.
Today he is enjoying a full day off - one of just a handful between now and the beginning of September.

Rob Pudner spent a busy weekend raising smiles with his Entertainingly Different antics, eyebrows with his rainbow suit and working the crowd in his inimitable style in Manor Gardens where he had the pleasure of acting as MC as part of this year's Exmouth Festival. Yesterday saw not one but three Entertainingly Different engagements and a new collaboration too.
Whilst Rob Pudner in his new suit was busy acting as the MC in a rather soggy Manor Gardens as part of Exmouth Festival, Mark Roberts - one half of Queenie and the Jester was on the other side of Devon where he set up and ran a circus skills area at an extremely wet Pilton Green Man. Rain didn't stop play at River Cottage, Axminster either (although it tried) where Sophie Tea Creative Arts, Jasmine Fassenfelt (willow work) and Higher Beings Circus provided activities and entertainment for children and adults at Oxygen House's private Summer Shindig.

It's Throwback Thursday and it was exactly a week ago that Rob Pudner spent a fabulous couple of hours facilitating an Entertainingly Different slapstick comedy and clowning workshop with some of the members of Broadclyst Theatre Group.
Fun in the sun - today saw an Entertainingly Different hat-trick with Rob Pudner paying visits to Wellesley Care Home, Rose Hill (The Northam Care Trust) and Woolacombe Bay Hotel.
The Summer season has begun and Rob Pudner was not only delighted to back at Hatherleigh Festival yesterday where he brought his inimitable Entertainingly Different style to the role of MC throughout the afternoon in the town square but he was also very happy to be christening his brand new suit which will be making many appearances over the coming weeks.

Here's some rather delightful feedback following Pirate Rob Pudner's recent Entertainingly Different engagement with Hire A Mermaid UK.
Rob Pudner had such a lovely time working with the pupils at Cardinham School and Nursery and hopes his recent Entertainingly Different visits are the start of an ongoing relationship with the school.
Rob Pudner was 'chuffed' (sorry we just couldn't resist it!) to pay another Entertainingly Different visit to Nanstallon Community Primary School near Bodmin this morning where after facilitating a short skills based session with Phoenix Class he then watched a full run of their end of year performance before giving them some constructive feedback and pointers ahead of their next few rehearsasl and actual show next week.
Rob Pudner was back in Cornwall today working with children in the top two classes of Nanstallon Community Primary School and giving them some Entertainingly Different input ahead of their summer performances which take place next week.
This afternoon for the first time in forever and over four months before the official start of the Entertainingly Different festive season Charlie Elf was seen well and truly out of season taking a break from his North Devon holiday and providing a spot of interactive entertainment for one of his super fans's fifth Birthday celebration!
Sweets, spotty shirts, spotty suits and spinning plates made for a fun Friday.
Yesterday started with Rob Pudner's regular term time visit to Unique Sweets & Treats in Crediton which he had to cut short to allow him to take a trip to Teignmouth where he'd been invited to attend Hazeldown Primary School's Summer Fayre. The rather inclement weather did not stop play as the indoor plan was actioned and Rob's Entertainingly Different antics were able to go ahead in a classroom.
Yesterday morning Rob Pudner made a much anticipated return to Cardinham School and Nursery where he had the pleasure of working with each of the classes in preparation for their Poetry Festival which took place in the St Meubred's Church in the afternoon where after a quick change he took the role of the Master of Ceremonies for a large and proud congregation who were treated to ninety minutes of fine performances.
The evening saw another Entertainingly Different engagement and another change of attire for the second of three visits to Bodmin and District Horizon Club where Rob gave a little nod to both American Independence Day and the Football throughout the two hour interactive session. There was lots of music, singing, dancing, parachute games, an interactive story and bubbles ensuring a great time and plenty of fun was had by all.
Yesterday afternoon Rob Pudner was engaged by Hire A Mermaid UK to provide some Entertainingly Different piratical antics alongside Mermaid Aqua for a very special celebration.
The Birthday Girl's face and that of her party guests was an absolute picture when they came face to face with these two colourful characters who provided two hours of interactive entertainment.
Yesterday afternoon Rob Pudner had the absolute pleasure of providing some Entertainingly Different antics at Coldridge Fete and as you can see he had lots of fun in the sun at this brilliant biennial Mid-Devon event.

Yesterday evening Rob Pudner was delighted to provide a spot of Entertainingly Different entertainment including a camp fire sing-along for the year fives and sixes from Nanstallon Community Primary School on the second night of their residential at Adventure Okehampton.
This morning Rob Pudner had the pleasure of being joined by fellow practitioner Katie Jones for a visit to Queen's College, Taunton where they facilitated a story making workshop for fifty-seven year eight students to help prepare them for a creative writing session taking place that afternoon.

Yesterday a suitably attired Rob Pudner was joined by Dave for a trip to North Devon where the pair were delighted to provide some Entertainingly Different antics for Wellesley Care Home's annual garden party.
Throughout the afternoon they had the pleasure of meeting friends and family members of many of the residents and were extremely excited to get their hands on a candyfloss as you can clearly see!
As many of you already know - one of Rob Pudner's favourite engagements is facilitating workshops in schools/colleges where he has the opportunity to educate, inspire, enthuse and entertain young people; and last Wednesday saw just that when he had the absolute pleasure of paying an Entertainingly Different visit to Cardinham School and Nursery near Bodmin.

Thanks to Della from Fizzog Face Painting for catching on film the tail end of yesterday's Entertainingly Different warm up for the Children's Hospice South West Rainbow Run at Westpoint Exeter. Rob Pudner certainly knows how to work the crowd! Altogether now "Sweet Caroline. . . . . ."
❄️A snow day! If you know anything about the Entertainingly Different Rob Pudner then you'll probably know that he loves snow. This morning he couldn't resist taking his sledge out and enjoying some of the white stuff that had fallen overnight and we are pleased to report after his wintry adventure there are no broken bones. We hope you enjoy this little POV film of his knee in action!
One week and counting. . . . . . The Entertainingly Different Charlie Elf is well and truly off the shelf and we're delighted to announce he will be visiting Wadebridge Dental Care Ltd as part of their open day on Thursday 15th December - join him between 5.00pm and 7.30pm for festive fun, seasonal shenanigans Christmas capers and even some snow. So put on your best smile and be sure to catch him next Thursday for an elfie selfie!
⚠️WEATHER WARNING ⚠️ Some rather seasonal weather has been forecast for Okehampton this coming Thursday - perfectly timed to coincide with Edwardian Evening courtesy of Entertainingly Different and everythingOkehampton. If you would like to take a snowy snap/selfie be sure to catch Rob Pudner armed with his snow machine (which is proving almost as popular as his entertainment) at the following locations: 5.30pm - 6.00pm The Museum of Dartmoor Life (courtyard) From 5.00pm for just £3.00 children can also take part in crafts, visit Father Christmas and take home a present too. There will also be a bottle raffle and a 'Name the Bear' competition. 6.15pm - 6.45pm Red Lion Yard Some of the children and parents from St James Primary School will launch their fundraising campaign for key stage two outdoor play equipment by singing some carols from 6.00pm 7.00pm - 7.30pm St James Chapel (outside) Cllr Bob Tolley, Mayor of Okehampton and the Okehampton Excelsior Silver Band will lead the community in 'Seven Carols at Seven'.
Next Saturday Charlie Elf will be off the shelf and thanks to our good friends at Unique Sweets & Treats and Prosound Solutions SW Limited he will be paying an Entertainingly Different visit to The Creedy Centre in Crediton as part of their Christmas Fair. He'll be dropping in between 2.00pm and 4.00pm so be sure to catch him for some festive fun, seasonal shenanigans and snow and don't forget to ask him for an elfie selfie!
Happy Halloween - here's a trick and a treat! This is the moment during the recent Silly Science Show that the Entertainingly Different Rob Pudner had his hand set on fire by Ruth from Sciencedipity - workshops, events & parties with the help of some water, washing up liquid and a can of butane gas. 🔥 *PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME* NB. Job satisfaction - Entertainingly Different had the pleasure of working with Devon Early Years Complex Needs this Summer as part of their Healthy Activities and Food programme. Rob Pudner visited parks in Barnstaple, Bideford, Exeter and Newton Abbot where he facilitated a variety of interactive and sensory activities including songs, stories, music and movement, parachute games, circus skills and giant bubbles. Here he is making a connection with Archie who has autism - thanks to Rebecca from Beans, Bubbles and Bouncing for allowing us to share this lovely film and being so supportive of our work.
'A chicken. . . . .' 🐔 Here's the moment the inimitable Rob Pudner was very nearly upstaged by three year old Erin during his Entertainingly Different Show at The Manor & Ashbury Resorts on Easter Saturday. Do you still remember the first time you and yours sang the 'Chicken Song'?
🎶 "Altogether now. . . . . ." Twenty-two years ago Rob Pudner played the part of Buttons in a production of 'Cinderella' and he was one of the cast who led the audience participation song just before the Pantomime's finale. He has used the song in question on many Entertainingly Different occasions over the years and as it's Throwback Thursday here he is a short excerpt from it's most recent outing which took place at The Manor House Hotel & Ashbury Hotel last Tuesday as part of the 'Christmas Cracker' where he was delighted to be joined by the talented Classical Crossover Singer Tamsin Ball .

As it's Throwback Thursday here's a look back to Saturday when Entertainingly Different had the absolute pleasure of representing 'Higher Beings Circus' in Bodmin, Cornwall on day one of two for the town's 'Tour of Britain Cycling Race' celebrations. Rob Pudner suitably attired rode a Penny Farthing back and forth between the town centre and Priory Park playing bicycle themed songs on route and stopping here and there to provide some interactive Circus skills. Travelling by this mode of transport was a first for Rob and we think he did rather well don't you? That said he did get steadily better throughout the day and this was taken just before he headed home! Credit: Nell Turner
