Such a beautiful delicate flower….

🌸 Our rangers came across a rare Grass of Parnassus flower today along the Duddon River!

🧐 This special bloom has a place of honour on the Cumbria flag and on the new logo for the Cumberland Council but has unfortunately become quite rare in the countryside despite being our county flower.

🤩 As part of the DEFRA funded Upper Duddon Landscape Recovery project and together with our partners, we hope to increase the number of these "bog stars" throughout the Duddon Valley so the discovery today was especially exciting.
