☺️ Today I got to spend the day in York with some great friends and fellow Travel Counsellors.

We got together during Covid as a support group to get through it and have gone on to become each others biggest cheer leaders.

York was lovely, the Christmas markets and a stunning meal at the Star Inn but the company was the main thing, including our newest member of the group baby Atlas 👶 🥰

🤩 Next week I’ll be heading to Finland with Transun to do their new 3 night Snowmobile Voyager trip!

▶️ The highlight of the trip is snowmobiling to the ‘three borders’ point, where Norway, Finland and Sweden meet – circling around all three countries in less than 30 seconds!

▶️ I can’t wait to show you all this amazing part of the world, even though it’s currently -12 🥶

💡 October Half Term

Yesterday I booked this fantastic hotel for a family travelling next October.

⏺️ The original request was for Dubai, but the prices seemed to have increased and so I suggested switching.

⏺️ I could get them a two bedroom suite, half board in a similar standard hotel for thousands less, and in the end under budget. In Dubai the room options weren’t as good and it was only breakfast.

⏺️ This is a great example of coming up with the different ideas and suggestions.

🧑‍🍳 Yesterday…..

What a day. I was so lucky to be invited by one of my amazing cruise partners Cunard to the stunning Crossbasket Castle, just outside Glasgow, for a cookery demonstration by the absolute legend Michel Roux Jnr.

For years I’d always wanted to go to his restaurant Le Gavroche. It had been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember and I’d always put it off. We couldn’t afford it, we could never get availability when we were in London and lots of other reasons.

In January I decided it was number one on my New Years Resolutions list. So I logged on to finally get it booked and make the arrangements only to find out that it was closing at the end of January and was fully booked!

The moral of the story I guess is make the booking, take the trip and book the holiday.

Yesterday was the closest I’ll get and I’m so grateful but I’ve learnt my lesson!

🔴 I’ve been lucky enough to visit California a couple of times over the years and during the Easter school holidays in 2022 I took the family for the first time.

🔵 (Yes it was post lockdown and I had a man bun!)

⚪️ With great cities like San Francisco and LA, Yosemite National Park, Monterey, the drive down Pacific Highway One, Cambria, Pismo Beach and Santa Barbara it’s an epic trip.

🇺🇸 New York in Winter

🔵 Last December I took my teenage daughters to New York for some Christmas shopping and to take in this amazing city at its absolute best!

⚪️ Seeing the Big Apple dressed up for Christmas is just brilliant. The Rockefeller tree, Sak’s and Macy’s and fifth avenue 😮

🔴 I’ve also been in February which is another great time to visit. Ice skating in Central Park, snow, crisp blue skies and it’s always great value.

✈️ What are you airports rituals?

Me and Sally go to Cafe Balzar at Manchester airport for Steak and frites every time we are in this terminal. The kids go to Burger King and then we spend a small fortune in WH Smith, every time!!!!
