The Leiston Works Railway. The local area of the Suffolk Coast is tied up with industrial history, with the Garrett Newson family being major movers and shakers as industrial pioneers with sites in Leiston and Snape Maltings, and ultimately as women's rights pioneers.
Elizabeth Garrett Anderson was the first woman doctor and first woman mayor of Aldeburgh. Her sister and daughter were also prominent suffragists who fought for equality and the right to vote.
